Grounded has a lot of weapons that you can craft throughout your adventure. However, there are some weapons that are only viable for beginner players that are building their very first base and other weapons that you can only unlock towards the end-game.
Weapons crafted from boss parts, for example, are some of the best weapons in the game; however, it takes a lot of effort and skill to be able to acquire the necessary materials to craft them. You should know about the best weapons to strive for before starting your adventure so that you have a goal to aim for and so you know what weapons you should use to fight the strongest enemies that you will encounter in Grounded. These are the best weapons that you can obtain and what materials you’ll need to craft them.
Updated April 11, 2022, by Michael Caruso: Grounded has added many weapons since its original launch, and you should know about the most powerful of the bunch. Lots of weapons contain special effects that you can use to defeat your enemies. Each weapon also has a specific base damage unique to it. Below you can find even more weapons that you can use against the insects in the Backyard.
12 Spicy Coaltana
- Damage:
- Four
- Effect:
- Spicy augment, glows when you equip it
- How To Craft:
- Ten bug gloop, two spicy globs, five everchar coal chunks
There are only a few powerful swords in Grounded, and the Spicy Coaltana is up there as one of the best. It doesn’t only offer high damage, it also glows when you equip it, which is a very unique visual effect.
If you want both a strong sword and a cool-looking weapon, then you can’t go wrong using the Spicy Coaltana since it offers both of these things. It’s not the easiest weapon to get in Grounded, but it’s well worth the materials if you want a powerful weapon.
11 Antlion Greatsword
- Damage:
- Four
- How To Craft:
- Three antlion parts, seven antlion pincers, three silk ropes
The Antlion Greatsword is another powerful sword that you can obtain in Grounded. It’s a greatsword, so it’s a slow weapon in general, but upon hitting an enemy, it deals massive damage that can rival most other weapons in the game.
If you want to craft the Antlion Greatsword, then you need to collect the materials above, which is quite the task. Even so, it’s a worthwhile investment if you want to create a powerful sword that you can use to fight even the strongest bugs.
10 Red Ant Club
- Damage:
- Three
- Effect:
- Stuns enemies hit
- How To Craft:
- Two crude rope, four red Ant parts, two red ant mandibles
Not only does the Red Ant Club have a very cool appearance, but it’s also extremely powerful due to its ability to stun enemies that it hits during combat. This effect is unique and offers a way to counter enemies that attack quickly.
Unfortunately, the Red Ant Club has a weak base damage stat, only dealing three damage per hit. However, its effect makes up for this downside and makes this weapon one of the best clubs you can acquire in Grounded.
9 Black Ox Hammer
- Damage:
- Five
- Effect:
- Stuns enemies hit
- How To Craft:
- Two pupa leather, one black ox horn, five black ox parts
If you’re looking for a powerful hammer, then you can look no further after finding the Black Ox Hammer because it packs quite the punch for any animal or insect hit by it. Additionally, it has a powerful stun effect that can offer the difference between winning or losing a battle.
At five damage per hit, you won’t need any other weapon after getting the Black Ox Hammer. However, it’s a slow weapon compared to others on this list, so remember that it takes a while to swing.
8 Salt Morning Star
- Damage:
- Two
- Effect:
- Salty augment, stuns enemies it hits
- How To Craft:
- One gum nugget, three roly poly parts, two salt globs
The Salt Morning Star offers two effects, but it doesn’t deal a lot of base damage compared to other weapons you can get in Grounded. It contains both the Salty augment and the ability to stun enemies hit by it.
Even if you don’t initially like the look of this weapon due to its low base damage, the Salt Morning Star is actually quite a powerful weapon, and it’s very fun to use, making it one of the best weapons you can add to your arsenal in Grounded.
7 ââââSplatburst
- Effect:
- Sticky explosive weapon
- How To Craft:
- One bratwurst, five sap, five web fiber
The splatburst is a type of bomb in Grounded, and what makes this such a useful weapon is that it sticks to any enemy that it hits and it explodes. This means you don’t have to worry about enemies walking out of the area before the bomb explodes, assuming that you have accurately aimed for the enemy.
Overall, the splatburst bomb is easy to craft because sap, web fiber, and bratwurst are relatively common. However, you should still conserve these explosives while you have them because they are harder to craft than basic tools and weapons.
6 Spider Fang Dagger
- Damage:
- Two
- Effect:
- Deals poison damage
- How To Craft:
- Three silk ropes, one spider fangs, four spider venom
The spider fang dagger doesn’t deal very much base damage compared to other end-game weapons; however, it’s special because it deals poison damage to enemies, which inflicts massive damage overall.
You’ll need a spider fang and spider venom to craft the spider fang dagger, so be sure to save this weapon for when you truly need it and use higher base damage weapons on enemies that aren’t as susceptible to poison.
5 Insect Bow
- Damage:
- Four
- How To Craft:
- Two spider chunks, two silk ropes, two spider fang
There are many different bows that you can craft in Grounded, and they offer a distinct advantage over melee weapons since you can defeat enemies at a range, effectively avoiding getting hit by enemies at all. The insect bow is the most powerful bow in Grounded because it deals four base damage.
If you pair the insect bow with a powerful variant of arrows, then you will deal even more damage with this weapon than you would with most of the melee weapons. If you’re looking for a powerful ranged weapon, then the insect bow is one of your best options.
4 Ant Club
- Damage:
- Six
- How To Craft:
- Two crude rope, four ant parts, two ant mandible
ââââââAnt clubs are easy to craft compared to many other endgame melee weapons since most of the crafting components required are obtained by defeating ants, one of the most common enemies in Grounded.
The ant club weapon deals six base damage, which is exceptionally high for such an easy-to-obtain tool. The best way to utilize the ant club is to craft a bunch of them and store them in chests throughout your base so that you will always have a throwaway weapon if you don’t want to use one of your hard-to-craft weapons during combat.
3 Crow Crossbow
- Damage:
- Six
- How To Craft:
- Six crow feather pieces, four acorn shells, four silk ropes
The insect bow is powerful; however, the crow crossbow is better overall since it fires faster and it deals six base damage. To craft the crow crossbow, you’ll need six crow feather pieces, which is a very high requirement for a single weapon.
Regardless, it’s worth tracking down these crow feathers because the crow crossbow is the best ranged weapon that you can craft in Grounded, and it’s one of the best weapons overall as well, even while taking melee weapons into account.
2 Mint Mace
- Damage:
- Eight
- How To Craft:
- Five mint chunks, nine silk ropes, eight flower petals
Most of the mint chunks that you find in Grounded don’t respawn, which is why you’ll need to preserve the mint mace once you craft it for the first time. You’ll need five mint chunks to craft a single one of these weapons in the first place, which is why you need to be a seasoned player before trying to obtain it.
The mint mace deals 8.5 base damage, which makes it so worth crafting despite the high material requirement. You’ll also need nine silk ropes and eight flower petals if you want to craft it; however, these materials are much more common throughout the Backyard when compared to mint chunks. The mint mace also has a fun appearance compared to some of the more basic-looking weapons in Grounded, which is another good reason to go through the trouble of collecting it.
1 Club Of The Mother Demon
- Damage:
- Ten
- How To Craft:
- Two broodmother chunks, broodmother venom, broodmother fang
The club of the mother demon doesn’t just have a fantastic name; it’s also one of the strongest weapons or tools in the Backyard. To obtain the club of the mother demon, you’ll have to defeat the broodmother boss, who is one of the strongest enemies in the game and also has a powerful set of attacks that you should know about before attempting this challenge.
If you’re using a melee weapon while fighting this powerful spider boss, then you should be prepared to block its attacks because otherwise, you’ll be defeated quickly. The broodmother moves quickly while jumping occasionally, and it’s important to note that you can’t leave the boss room until the spider is defeated or you die, so make sure to come prepared. After defeating the broodmother, you can craft the mother demon club with the materials you obtain. This club deals a massive ten damage to enemies.
