In the modern age of gaming, there are plenty of different FPS titles to try out. However, the never-ending success of competitive multiplayer shooters like Fortnite and Call of Duty often eclipse smaller indie titles that are great single-player adventures. One of those games is Get To The Orange Door which has players making their way to the eponymous exit while fighting through enemies and obstacles.
GTTOD is a first-person shooter set in a virtual world filled with retro colors and 80s elements. Created by Andrew Smith at Hitcents, the game takes inspiration from shooters over the past few decades such as the original DOOM. GTTOD has been in early access on Steam since 2019, but now is making the jump to the Xbox One as well.
In a new Future Games Show trailer celebrating the Xbox One release, GTTOD first-timers are introduced to a few of the different environments such as an open skyline, narrow corridors, a steep downhill ride, and swimming through an underwater section. Furthermore, the preview cycles through a variety of weapons that can be used including a pistol, assault rifle, magnum, sniper rifle, and crossbow among others yet to be seen. But the biggest takeaway is that the port retains the original’s polish and detail while remaining a unique modern-day shooter with an arcade color scheme.
Since GTTOD is $14.99 on Steam, interested players should expect the same price tag once it arrives for the Xbox One later in 2020. But if anyone wants to try the game out before buying it, there is a GTTOD demo that can currently be downloaded on PC.
Get To The Orange Door is available on PC with a 2020 release date on Xbox One.
