It is almost time for the first in-game Movie Nite in Fortnite, and players will have the opportunity to watch one of several excellent films by Christopher Nolan. Here is everything a player needs to know to have the best possible experience.
How To Participate
Getting to Movie Nite is as simple as logging into Fortnite this evening, ideally before the film starts at 8PM ET, and launching a Party Royale match. Once inside the match, head directly to The Big Screen, located on the Western side of the map. Players can log in at any time after, but like a real movie theatre – whatever you miss, you miss.
Optimizing The Viewing Experience
To see the screen as clearly as possible and with minimal distraction, the best move is to disable all HUD elements. This is done by opening the Options menu, selecting the GAME UI Tab which is the third from the left, and turn all options to “OFF”.
Subtitles can also be accessed in a similar way for those who desire to have them. Once again in the Options settings, head to the Audio Settings tap which is sixth from the left. There, under Sound there is a Subtitles selection labelled Options. Click on this, and from there you can turn Subtitles on and off, as well as adjust text size, color, border, and background opacity.
Which Film Will I See?
In an ideal world, everyone would be watching the same movies, but the process of dealing with licensing and distribution rights in different regions and languages is quite a bit of work. As a result, most countries will be able to participate, with Inception, Batman Begins, or The Prestige playing based on a player’s location. Readers can click here for the full schedule.
Unfortunately, it has recently been revealed that Canada and Puerto Rico will not be able to partake in this first test of Movie Nite, as Epic has recently found some technical mistakes. However, they were clear in stating that, “We’ll learn from this mistake and work to make a better global experience next time.” Patience is a virtue, or so we are told, so these players will need to wait a little longer before experiencing the virtual movie-going experience for themselves.
