For those of you who just need more Mobile Suit Gundam in your lives, Right Stuf has just revealed one heck of a Gundam SEED package.

Now, if there’s one thing gamers and anime fans alike always enjoy, it’s a special edition release. Nintendo Switch fans, for instance, will often hold off on purchasing a title on the eShop in the hope that a physical release will follow suit. This has been the trend with the system, after all.

Meanwhile, fans of anime have more options than ever as to where to indulge their passions for their favorite shows online. In this brave new world of digital gaming and streaming, many ‘collections’ exist purely in the ether rather than as actual physical disks or cartridges. It’s enough to make you feel super, super old, and for some fans, it’s just not good enough.

With these forms of media in particular, though, there’s still a great market for deluxe box sets. The average gamer probably owns enough steelbooks to stock a whole steel bookshop by now, and the same goes for collectors of DVDs and Blu-Rays too. Which brings us to Right Stuf’s announcement at this weekend’s Otakon.Online event.

As Anime News Network reports, Right Stuf is releasing a stunning Mobile Suit Gundam SEED boxset at the end of this year. Titled the Collector’s Ultra Edition, it will contain episodes 1 to 50 of the original series (in HD), plus 1 to 48 of the remastered version. Both a dub and subtitles will be available, as will three separate movie selections.

It’s not just the episodes of the beloved anime themselves, of course. As you can see, the collection is being given the lavish treatment it deserves, beautifully boxed and with some choice extras for fans (a double-sided poster and a glossy artbook boasting 118 pages).

If you’re familiar with the anime, which revolves around a conflict between Coordinators and distrustful regular humans, you’ll know whether you’re enough of a fan to want to take the plunge on this boxset. If you do, you’ll need to know that it’s available for preorder only from Rightstuf’s store itself, launches on December 1, 2020, and costs a cool $224.99.
