Only a couple of days to go until preorders officially open for Indomitus, and Games Workshop still has some surprises up their sleeves, with some exclusive preorder bonuses available.

With just over two weeks to go until its official release, it is hard to picture what else GW has in store for fans of tabletop wargame Warhammer 40,000. The 9th Edition is looking to be the most anticipated release yet, but despite the reassurances that plenty of the limited-run launch box set has been produced, GW has scaled back the maximum number of copies that can be purchased to 3 per customer, down from 6. This is an obvious attempt to get this release into the hands of as many fans as possible, and out of the greasy paws of scalpers.

In a recent post of the Warhammer Community website, GW has revealed a set of pre-order bonuses for customers who preorder their copy of Warhammer 40,000 Indomitus direct from them through their web site. First up, we have a 14cm x 10cm cloth dice bag with the Warhammer 40,000 logo adorning. Contained within are 6 clear acrylic objective markers measuring 40mm in diameter. The tokens are numbered 1 through 6 on one side and feature the Warhammer 40,000 logo on the other. The final item is a Launch Celebration Coin featuring the Ultramarine logo and legend “And They Shall Know No Fear”, and Necron logo and legend “Our Number Is Legion. Our Name is Death”.

Collectors will no doubt be taking them up on this offer as they look to add to their hoard. The collector market for GW Intellectual Property is on the rise as more and more people discover the rich and mature lore. Aside from this, however, how much utility these preorders bring is up for debate. The coin is a nice novelty but brings little to the game, and the markers are handy but can easily be replaced with scraps of paper. The dice bag, in our opinion, is the most useful but again, do we need another dice bag?

Warhammer 40,000 Indomitus is available to preorder from July 11th and available to buy from July 25th. GW stores will have limited supplies of the preorder bonus for pickup in stores. Preorder bonuses are available while stocks last.
