PC players won’t have much longer to wait for the conclusion of the Halo trilogy. 343 Industries has announced that Halo 3 will be joining the Master Chief Collection on July 14, 2020. Coming with a reworked Forge editor and a brand new jetpack skull, this new version is primed to be the definitive port of the 2007 smash hit.

As for my memories of the game, I’ve beaten it upwards of 10 times over the last 13 years and I don’t remember much about it. The multiplayer was certainly a big draw for many and the shooter dominated the Xbox Live charts until Halo: Reach launched a few years later. It was a big deal in the days before Microsoft seemingly gave up on the Xbox 360.

Halo 3 will be included as a part of Xbox Game Pass for PC, so you can try it out for the low price of $1 if you’re so inclined. It will also be available on Steam, where the entire Master Chief Collection is currently sitting with a nice 20% discount.

If you’re more the console type, the game has been available on Xbox One since 2014. The 360 version is even backward compatible with Microsoft’s current-generation system. That seems odd, but I guess options are always appreciated.
