It’s not like 343 Industries has been holding out on us when it comes to info on the upcoming Halo Infinite, but you get the sense that Halo fans are desperate for something more than just words and pictures. They want some action to go along with all this talk.
Good news: Halo Infinite might be getting a new trailer, and soon.
That’s according to Halo Infinite campaign lead Joseph Staten, who tweeted over the weekend what he’d been up to for the past week. The images show “sequence v7” through “sequence v14,” which most likely refer to animation sequences of the sort that might be edited together to create a brief trailer.
Of course, this is just speculation. Staten didn’t say anything to confirm or deny what these “sequences” are for, but given the fact that he’s got plenty of past experience directing game cinematics, we’re inclined to think this is for some sort of animation.
If this is a new trailer, it’ll be the first one since Microsoft revealed Halo Infinite’s campaign gameplay last summer. That demo didn’t exactly go over well with fans who were expecting to see some next-gen graphics on an Xbox Series X. Instead, they saw something that didn’t really look all that impressive, with a former employee blaming engine issues for the demo not appearing up to snuff.
That same former employee also said that Halo Infinite was being made under crunch conditions “for the past few years.” 343 Industries is making a brand new game engine along with a semi-open world game at the same time, which the anonymous employee called “overly ambitious.”
Another feature coming to Halo Infinite is Discord chat integration. Microsoft announced Discord’s involvement in a recent blog post that will allow friends to join games through Xbox Live, Steam, or Discord, “making it convenient to get into a match regardless of which platform your friends are on.”
