The Halo universe is a futuristic setting with several factions with unique ships, weapons, and soldiers. The Covenant, the Forerunners, the UNSC, the Flood, and the Banished have all fought against one another to some degree or another. Each one is vying for power, though it has often left humanity just trying to fight for survival.

One of the most captivating things about Halo is how distinct the design of each faction’s ships and weaponry is. The architecture of the UNSC, the Covenant, and the Forerunners is so unique to their faction. One thing they all have in common, however, is that they try to build the biggest battleships. Let’s count down the biggest ships in Halo as well as their size and weight.

13 Sinaris-Pattern Heavy Destroyer Is A Vast Covenant Warship

The Sinaris-Pattern Heavy Destroyer is a Covenant destroyer that was mentioned in promotional material for Halo: Combat Evolved and made its first full video game appearance in Halo Wars. The Sinaris-Pattern also appeared in Halo-Evolutions: Essential Tales of the Halo Universe book and the Halo Escalation comic series by Dark Horse. This destroyer was primarily used during the Harvest Campaign largely spotlighted in Halo Wars and referenced in Halo 3: ODST.

Notable Sinaris-Pattern Heavy Destroyers are the Proclamation’s Tithe and Radiant Perception. This behemoth clocks in at 1.66km long by 1.35km wide and weighs 115 million metric tons. Its height/depth is unknown.

12 Epoch-Class Heavy Carrier Is A Star Of The UNSC

The Epoch-Class Heavy Carrier was a troop-transport ship used by the UNSC Navy throughout the Human-Covenant War. It was originally designed specifically for the Halo: Fleet Battles tabletop game, but it’s since been inducted into the wider canon, particularly in the Halo: The Fall of Reach novel and Halo: Waypoint.

Notable Epoch-Class vessels are the UNSC Atlas and Epoch, the former of which was the site of a fight between Master Chief and a group of ODSTs that ultimately led to the animosity between Spartans and ODSTs. The Epoch-Class comes up at 2.56km long and weighs 35 million metric tons. Its width and height are unknown.

11 Phoenix-Class Colonial Support Vessel Brings Civilians To The Frontier

The Phoenix-Class Colonial Support Vessel is primarily intended as a civilian ship used to colonize worlds. However, the war with the Covenant ultimately led to these vessels being used in conflict, particularly at Harvest. These ships have made appearances in Halo Wars 1 and 2, Halo: Escalation, and Halo Legends.

Notable Phoenix-Classes are the UNSC Spirit of Fire and Skidbladnir. This ship is 2.5km long by 800m wide and weighs 44 million metric tons. Its height/depth is unknown.

10 The Carrack Merchant Cruiser Is A Non-Combat Sanghelli Ship

This is a very old class of Sanghelli, or Elite, ship that came about before the Writ of Union, the pact that united the Sanghelli and San’Shyuum (aka the Prophets of the Covenant). This is one of the rare non-combat ships that have been shown in the Halo canon. Despite the fact that this is a merchant cruiser and not built for war, Carrack cruisers were used as warships at the Battle of Sunaion.

Unfortunately, the height/depth, width, and weight of the Carrack Merchant Cruisers are not known. However, they measure 2.8 kilometerslong.

9 Punic-Class Supercarrier Helped Quash The Insurrection

The Punic-Class Supercarrier is another UNSC warship used during the Insurrection (an unofficial civil war in Earth’s military) as well as the Human-Covenant War. This ship hasn’t officially appeared in a Halo game, but it did show up in Halo: Fleet Battles and the Halo: Fall of Reach novel.

The UNSC Trafalgar and the Punic are two known Punic-Class Supercarriers. This ship clocks in at over 3km long and 120m wide, but its height and weight are unknown.

8 Varric-Pattern Heavy Cruiser Is Over Three Kilometers Long

The Varric-Pattern Heavy Cruiser is a Covenant capital ship. This ship was primarily used for inter-Covenant conflicts prior to the Human-Covenant War. A few Varrics survived to serve in the war with the UNSC. The Varric-Pattern Heavy Cruiser has only really made appearances in visual guides and tabletop games as well as Halo: Waypoint.

Incorruptible and the Blight of the Profane are two named Varric-Pattern Heavy Cruisers. This ship comes in at 3km long by 1.45km wide and weighs 200 million metric tons. Its height/depth is unknown.

7 DDS-Class Carrier Helps Clear Out The Smaller Threats

The DDS-Class Carrier of the Covenant Navy is a ship designed to take out smaller ships and deploy hordes of fighter ships. This one hasn’t made any appearances in the videogames either, but it showed up in Halo: The Fall of Reach, Halo: First Strike, and Halo: Ghosts of Onyx.

The only known named DDS-Class Carrier has been Ascendant Justice. The DDS comes in at about 3km long by 1.9km wide, but its height and weight are unknown.

This unnamed class of Covenant capital ship doesn’t have a known height/depth, width, or weight. However, it measures over 3.5 kilometers long.

5 UNSC Infinity-Class Supercarrier Is The Star Of The UNSC Navy

The UNSC Infinity-Class Supercarrier is the largest class of human ships ever constructed. It used Forerunner technology and was intended to be used against the Covenant. After the war, however, it was used as an exploratory vessel. The Infinity saw action again at the Battle of Requiem and fought against both Forerunner and Covenant forces. This ship made its debut Halo: The Thursday War but showed up more prominently in Halo 4, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, and Halo 5: Guardians.

Appropriately, the Infinity is the only completed Infinity-Class Supercarrier. There was intended to be a second, but it was never completed. This massive ship comes in at 5.69km long by 833m wide by 1.014km high and weighs 907 million metric tons.

4 CAS-Class Assault Carrier Terrorized The Human Colonies

3 The Brigantine Class Of Warship Is Another Ancient Class Used By Jul’Mdama’s Covenant

Like the Carrack class of merchant cruisers, the Brigantine warships were an ancient decommissioned class of Covenant ships that were brought back by Jul’Mdama’s Covenant and the Swords of Sanghelios. Despite their age, these ships were absolutely monstrous in terms of size and were only dwarfed by one class of Covenant ships.

The Brigantine warships don’t have a recorded height/depth, width, or weight, but they come in at 6.3 kilometers long.

2 CSO-Class Supercarrier Is Another Covenant Monster

The CSO-Class Supercarrier is the largest ship in the Covenant Navy and has only made a video game appearance in Halo: Reach. Needless to say, this beast was used at Reach and throughout the Human-Covenant War. The only larger Covenant structures are the Unyielding Hierophant and the High Charity, both of which were immobile space stations and not actual ships.

There are two known CSO-Class Supercarriers: Sublime Transcendence and Long Knight of Solace. This monster comes in at 28.96km long by 11.447km wide by 3.563km high but its weight is unknown.
