Who says you can’t have fun while stuck inside? Arm & Hammer Baking Soda appears to have adopted the same mentality as The Cat in the Hat, as they - along with virtual reality company 4experience - are bringing space exploration to a living room near you.
Hammer Force is a new free-to-play mobile game that was developed to allow for experimental learning to still take place even with the shelter-in-place orders in effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic. School may also be letting out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean that learning has to end.
In a fashion similar to Pokemon Go, Hammer Force uses augmented reality (AR) to allow players to complete missions within the confines of their own homes. Players are tasked with working together to save the world in two separate missions “using a combination of STEM knowledge and problem-solving savvy to avert disaster.” Thes include figuring out a formula to stop a massive geyser eruption, as well as building and fueling a rocket ship to prevent an asteroid from colliding with Earth. Along the way, players will also answer trivia questions as well as unlock rewards.
It’d be great if more missions get added to Hammer Force, but for what it is in its current state, it’s a fun, family-friendly way to spend an afternoon.
Hammer Force is now available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
