Jam City recently added both Year 5 Chapter 3 and Year 5 Chapter 4 to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, but that’s not the only new content that’s made its way to the game. Additionally, the developer has also kicked off a new in-game event that gives players the opportunity to unlock an exclusive spider pet.
The new event in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is another House Pride event, meaning players have to earn house points instead of stars like in the game’s other events. Furthermore, the House Pride event is cooperative, with players separated out into teams of 10 and pitted against three other houses to see who can earn the most house points for the duration of the event. The team that wins will unlock the spider pet, whereas second place will get 30 energy, third place will get 500 coins, and fourth place will get 100 coins.
There are other prizes available as well that reward a player’s individual performance. By earning 25 house points, players get 250 coins. 35 house points equals 750 coins, and 95 house points will unlock three notebooks. Upon reaching 205 house points and 315 house points, players can get a total of six more notebooks.
Considering the sheer number of prizes available, it makes sense for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players to be sure to participate as much as possible. With that in mind, players should know that earning house points in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery can be done in a couple of different ways. One way is to complete story events and be rewarded by professors, but the primary method will be completing classes, which will reward players with some house points for each star earned.
Any Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans interested in the event will have about a week to earn as many house points as possible. The spider pet is clearly the most desirable prize, but even if players’ teammates let them down, that doesn’t mean they can’t still earn the individual prizes. Notebooks are especially important to collect, as they are required to adopt some of the new magical pets that have been added to the game in recent updates.
With the second House Pride event, it seems as though this is how Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will handle in-game events moving forward. The multiplayer element combined with the increase in prizes should make the House Pride events more popular, but we’ll see how fans react.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
