Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is 10 chapters deep into Year 5, and it has finally given players some new ways to get free energy in the game.

For the uninitiated, each year in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has included a new major area for players to explore, complete with specific objects in the environment that can be tapped for free energy. Year 5 in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has added two new areas for players to explore: the Magical Creatures Reserve and Diagon Alley.

The Magical Creatures Reserve should actually be available to Hogwarts Mystery players prior to Year 5, but that’s the year it was added for players who are all caught up with the story. In the Magical Creatures Reserve, players need to tap on the Borf (a grey dog-looking thing) located between the Grasslands and the Forest.

For Diagon Alley, players need to tap on the coin bag sitting in the middle of the alleyway. After tapping on the coin bag, a Niffler will speed into view, and players will be rewarded with another energy bit.

Besides these new objects that players can tap in Year 5, there is another way to get energy in the game. Whenever players upgrade their relationship with the magical creatures they’re taking care of in the Magical Creatures Reserve, they will earn some free energy bits that they can then use to help them complete other things in the game.

Of course, these new ways to get free energy go hand-in-hand with the previous ways to get free energy in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Here are all the free energy locations so far:

  • Magical Creatures Reserve - Borf between the Grasslands and the Forest East Towers – Empty painting to the left of the Charms Classroom East Towers – Peeves the Poltergeist in between the Astronomy Tower and Divination Classroom West Towers – Flower painting to the left of the Prefects’ Bathroom Lower Floor (West) – Torch to the right of the Great Hall Lower Floor (West) – Middle suit of armor to the right of the Great Hall Dungeons – House Elf leaning against the wall in front of the Kitchens Castle Grounds – Stick on the ground in front of Hagrid’s Hut Lower Floor (East) – Stack of books on the concrete bench between the Library and History of Magic Classroom Hogsmeade – Student on the sled in the alley between The Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes Forbidden Forest – Spiderweb to the left of the Spider’s Lair Diagon Alley - Coin bag in the alleyway
