Today is Thursday, and for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players, that means that there will likely be new story content added to the game at some point later on. And as it turns out, some fans may open their app and be treated to a whopping 150 bonus energy that will help them get through the probable addition of Year 5 Chapter 3 as soon as possible.

A few days ago, Jam City started sending out 150 in bonus energy as an apology to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans for failing to add Year 5 Chapter 3 last Thursday. The exact apology stated that the History of Magic class is not ready yet, and that Jam City needs to “dust off the books.” Additionally, Jam City has refunded any gems that were used by Hogwarts Mystery players who were preparing for Year 5 Chapter 3 content.

Some may be wondering why Jam City would refund gems when Year 5 Chapter 3 has yet to be technically added to the game. Well, as it turns out, some players were actually able to start Year 5 Chapter 3, completing the first chapter before hitting a roadblock and being told that more content would be on the way soon. Other players were unable to start Year 5 Chapter 3 at all, and as of the latest updates, the game has reverted back to the end of Year 5 Chapter 2, so players who have already completed the first part of Year 5 Chapter 3 may need to repeat it.

What’s unclear is if all Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players will receive the 150 free energy bits or if only the players who have managed to catch up with the story will get the free energy. Furthermore, it’s also unclear if Year 5 Chapter 3 will be added today after all, or if Jam City will wait on adding the new main story content until next week or even further out.

If Jam City doesn’t add Year 5 Chapter 3 to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery today, fans should at least be able to look forward to some other new content. This could include a new in-game event or a new side quest, like last week’s substantial Egg Hunt side quest that introduced a brand new character.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
