Hatsune Miku - what can’t she Hatsune Mik-Do?

Nothing, apparently. She’s one of the world’s most recognizable pop idols, star of a best-selling video game franchise, and the creator of Minecraft. Now, she’s got her sights set on a much more lucrative project: throwing a virtual show inside of a niche MMO from 2012.

Wait, what?

That’s right, Hatsune Miku threw a concert last night inside of Phantasy Star Online 2. Staged in the game’s bright and bombastic shopping district, the show had seating and special lighting arrangements all set up for the show. When the lights went down, Hatsune Miku and best girl Luka Megurine perfect a set of their biggest songs for a captive audience of players.

But why? Well, aside from Sega owning the IP, the concert was held with the purpose of shelling out scratch tickets. These tickets give players a chance to get all sorts of cosmetics themed off of Miku and her other Vocaloid pals. Wait, was this virtual concert just a big ad? Of course, silly - all concerts are!

There’s no word on any future shows, but hopefully, Miku graces the game with her presence sooner rather than later. We understand that she’s pretty busy these days, but it would be nice for her to not forget her niche Sega roots.
