While most esports have shut down all local tournaments in light of the ongoing social distancing efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the NBA 2K League has kept the action going with its Three For All Showdown. Last night featured the Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, squared off against Wizards District Gaming, coming up short in the best of three format 15-21 and 18-21.

Despite the loss, the action was intense throughout the match and featured great moves on both sides. It’s always great watching competitive events as a casual player, because when the match is over, we’re invigorated to jump into the games and try these moves out for ourselves.

In response to the cancellation of the start of the normal competitive season, the Three For All Showdown has online play broadcasts, featuring WNBA and G League ballers, pro athletes from other sports leagues, and the top fan teams from previous brackets play alongside some of the top 2K League players.

It’s not the main League that fans expected, but it’s still plenty entertaining with a $25,000 prize pool that keeps the competition intense. Fans can catch the semifinals and finals tonight starting at 8pm!
