Hazelight, the studio behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out, will be announcing its next project at this week’s EA Play Live 2020 stream. Director Josef Fares made the announcement on Twitter and stated, “A short tease about the next game on #EAPlayLive.” Could it be A Way In?

That’s not really a lot to go on, but both of the team’s previous titles were solid. Brothers remains a pretty remarkable little indie treasure while A Way Out is a decent co-op game to spend a few hours with. Maybe it didn’t give the finger to the Oscar’s, but it had a compelling enough narrative.

With this announcement, we know of at least two games coming to EA’s stream this week. The first will be a proper reveal for Star Wars: Squadrons by EA Motive. That is bound to get most of the attention, but I’m more intrigued by what Fares and his team are cooking up.

Falling under the “EA Originals” label, it’s nice to see such a big corporation attempting to cultivate more unique experiences. Now if only EA’s triple-A output could be similarly exciting and unique, but I’ll take what I can get. Just no Unravel Three, please.
