HBO Max is finally here, and it’s robust library of movies and TV shows seems to be missing some pretty notable titles, especially with regards to DC Comics.
Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, which includes Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, is not included on the streaming platform at launch. There’s currently no way to stream the film series without renting or purchasing them, so its a bit of a surprise and disappointment that they didn’t make it onto HBO Max.
The entire DCEU is available on HBO Max with the exception of 1 film. Subscribers have access to Wonderwoman, SHAZAM, Justice League, Aquaman, Suicide Squad, and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but Man of Steel is surprisingly absent. As the film that kicked off the entire DC Comics connected universe, it’s odd that it isn’t available on HBO Max.
Many other DC Comics films are available, both live-action and animated. All 4 Batman movies from the 90’s are available, as is The Lego Batman Movie and the cult classic Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Sadly, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is not.
Both Green Lantern and Jonah Hex are also available, though if it were up to me, I’d trade both of them for Keanu Reeve’s criminally underrated Constantine, which is unfortunately not available to stream on HBO Max.
