Ever since its release, it’s been practically impossible to keep the Wii on shelves for any extended amount of time. Even so, the technical limitations of the console are beginning to show. With the Xbox 360 and PS3 capable of beautiful HD graphics, it’s starting to become quite apparent that even though Nintendo may have innovation on their side, they really need to step into the modern age and not just with their game graphics.
With HD available everywhere you look, it’s only a matter of time before people begin to realize the Wii’s largest flaw. For this reason, people have been speculating day in and day out about the possibility of an HD attachment for the Wii.
In a recent interview with Geoff Keighley of GameTrailers TV, Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Amie flat out denied that Nintendo will be stepping out of the stone age on that front.
Does Reggie want Nintendo to be looked down upon by the core gamers? They’re beginning to look like the kid everyone laughs at for using a Walkman instead of an iPod. With all of their innovation, Nintendo has what it takes to take a large stake in the control of the gaming industry, but if they don’t smarten up and move into the present, we may end up seeing more gamers migrating to Microsoft or Sony.
