Now that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are officially out and in some peoples’ homes, there are plenty of seemingly forgotten IPs fans are hoping to see get a revival of some kind, with Banjo-Kazooie arguably being the most prominent one. But one that many remember fondly is online trivia game 1 Vs 100.

Though it only lasted for two seasons when it was released on the Xbox 360, many believe that it could very well make a revival on the new Xbox consoles, with one primary reason being that the head of Xbox himself, Phil Spencer, wants it to happen too. In the past, Spencer has hinted and teased the possibility and now, during a new interview with GameSpot, he appears to admit that he is trying to get it to happen.

While he makes a point to not confirm that 1 Vs 100 will definitely be revived, he says that he has had discussions with Chris Charla, the head of ID@Xbox (a program that allows independent game developers to self-publish titles for Xbox consoles and PC) about bringing it back in some form or another, which strongly suggests that something is happening.

It’s entirely possible that, since the game was based on a TV show and not technically a Microsoft IP, that Microsoft could bring it back under a different name with a similar ruleset. Hopefully, if it does come back, it will not only receive more support but also be more widely available. The original game could only be played in the US, Canada, and the UK, meaning other regions couldn’t take part.

In the same interview, he reveals that he played Elden Ring, the new game from Dark Souls studio FromSoftware, and calls it director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s most ambitious game yet. Considering how little news there has been about the game since its announcement, there have been fears that it’s going through development troubles, so Spencer’s comments may put some fans at ease.

Spencer certainly seems fond of teasing upcoming projects. Last month, he said that he also got to play the new game from studio The Initiative, and that he is very excited for everyone else to play it. The new studio was founded in 2018 and the identity of its first game continues to be a complete enigma, though there have been rumors and theories that it’s a revival of the Perfect Dark series.

As for the Xbox Series X/S, many other companies have come out to congratulate Microsoft on the launch, though it hasn’t been smooth. Even now, there are some who pre-ordered an Xbox Series X and/or Xbox Series S who won’t receive their order until December.
