Ninja Theory is bringing Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice to the Xbox One with enhancements to the Xbox One X version. The title will release for Microsoft’s platform on April 11th.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice released to positive critical acclaim on August 8th, 2017. Originally released by Ninja Theory for the PS4 and PC, Hellblade is making its debut on the Xbox One, with the One X version of the game offering three technically upgraded modes.

The announced features include enhanced visuals, high frame rate mode, as well as a high resolution mode. The enhanced visuals feature brings improved FX and visual quality throughout the story; for players looking to play at 60 FPS, they need look no further than the high frame rate mode. Last but not least, the high resolution mode lets players up the resolution to 4K. Ninja Theory also revealed that early adopters will receive a 10% discount on the Microsoft store.

Having already featured life-like motion capture, the introduction of high resolution, enhanced visuals, and high frame rate modes add a little more for Xbox One X owners to boast about. Currently, the PS4 Pro only supports the increased resolution and increased frame rate modes, meaning that One X players will have more variety when choosing how they want to experience the game. This coupled with a 10% discount off a $30 game makes for a welcomed addition to the enhanced library of the Xbox One X.

Developer Ninja Theory focused heavily on packaging an AAA experience into this game at half the cost, which was praised in Game Rant’s review. The story revolves around a young woman named Senua suffering from psychosis. She is tormented by the malevolent voices she hears while traveling through hell - literally and figuratively - to save the lost soul of her lover.

While some AAA games are criticized for demanding more and more money from gamers through microtransactions and the like, it’s refreshing to see the care Ninja Theory puts into its own game, and the efforts the developers go to ensure fans receive the best experience possible.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is available now for PS4 and PC, and will release for the Xbox One on April 11th, 2018.
