Tomorrow, April 17th, the ever-expanding world of survival-horror game, Hello Neighbor, will continue its move into media beyond the realm of gaming with the test pilot episode of a new animated series.
The 6-minute proof of concept episode will premiere on YouTube at 10am EST, and will showcase the story setup, animation, and give viewers an idea of what to expect with the series. An extended 20-minute version of the episode will be available to paid YouTube Community Subscribers.
The synopsis of the pilot seems to follow a similar story as Secret Neighbor, the multiplayer version of the game:
The livestream will also feature some behind-the-scenes footage with the series’ creative team.
“A group of kids led by Nicky are breaking into their creepy Neighbor’s house to find their missing friends.”
The goal of the short, early look into the series is to garner interest within the franchise’s community, which is already pretty large with the game reaching 30 million downloads last month. On top of that, the book series aimed at pre-teens and teenagers has raked in over $16 million in sales. Unsurprisingly, the author of the book series, Carly Anne West, penned the story for the animated series, with animation being produced by Animasia Studio - known for its work with Cartoon Network
Clearly, there is plenty of interest surrounding the Hello Neighbor franchise. An official animated series seems like a logical next step.
