Several games will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass service in July. On July 15, Metal Gear Solid 5, Blazing Chrome and Dead Rising 4 will leave along with three other games. From that day forward, these games will no longer be available to users on the service and will no longer be afforded the subscriber discount.

Xbox Game Pass offers popular titles from all generations of Xbox consoles, including the original Xbox and the Xbox One, such as Gears of War and Halo games, a selection of Rare’s back catalog and games like The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy XV and The Outer Worlds.

Aside from the Xbox Game Pass on console, there is a separate PC subscription. Users with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership can also access both subscriptions - as well as Xbox Live Gold - for one price.

In July, Xbox Game Pass will offer the following new additions:

Soulcalibur VI (added July 1, 2020)

CrossCode (added July 9, 2020)

Fallout 76 (added July 9, 2020)

Games that will leave Xbox Game Pass on July 15 include:

Blazing Chrome (PC and console)

Dead Rising 4 (PC and console)

Metal Gear Solid 5 (PC and console)

Timespinner (PC)

Unavowed (PC)

Undertale (PC)

Although the games leaving mainly affect PC users, PC players were recently offered Fallout 76 and Endless Space 2. Users can learn more about new releases at the Xbox Games Showcase, an event held on July 23 at 9am PT on Xbox.com, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter.

According to Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, “The future of gaming has never been more inspiring. Creativity in games is flourishing. New services empower you to discover more games—and bring you closer to the games and creators and streamers you love. The cloud creates a massive opportunity to stream console-quality games and play with the people you want, wherever you want. And for many of us, nothing is more inspiring than the dawn of a new console generation.”

The company has renewed its commitment to compatibility in all Xbox systems, stating that titles in Xbox Game Pass benefit from “steadier framerates, faster load times and improved resolution and visual fidelity.”
