Call of Duty Mobile kicked off its sixth season with guns slinging in a Western-themed showdown. Following the Once Upon a Time In Rust launch, the COD subreddit has issued an update giving a rundown of ‘most’ events scheduled for May.
Given the popularity of Call of Duty Mobile and the outstanding response from players regarding this latest season of cowboy hijinks, Activision is going guns-a-blazing with events throughout May. So let’s get right into it.
Gold Rush
May kicked off with the two on two Showdown Mode, which just ended yesterday, May 14th. However, the new Western-themed ‘Gold Rush’ events commenced on May 8 and will be live through the 21st.
Available in the Kill Confirmed and Battle Royale gameplay modes, Gold Rush is the game’s first event correlating to a seasonal theme. The objective is – you guessed it – to farm as much gold as possible. Kill Confirmed will playout as usual, aside from players vying insatiably for gold bars. In Battle Royale, players will want to keep an eye out for specially marked barrels which may contain treasure maps. All of this gold can be traded in for exclusive rewards within the Event section of the main menu.
Winner Bonus and World Championships Weekends
The first Winner Bonus weekend took place on May 8th through the 10th. This Ranked Mode bonus will be available each weekend throughout May. World Championship Qualifiers will also be taking place over the weekends, kicking off every Thursday.
Mid-May’s Free For All Mode
For some mid-month festivities, Activision has implemented a limited-time multiplayer event. This ‘Free For All’ mode launched on May 13th and will be running for a week through May 19th.
Mid-May’s Seasonal Challenge
Seasonal Challenges have proven to be a hit, so the developers are continuing the trend. Today, May 15th, a fresh seasonal challenge has arrived with both paid and free options. By completing the Gunslinger seasonal quest, players can unlock the new Cordite SMG. This gun is possibly the new best artillery in the game, so players won’t want to let this opportunity go to waste.
That’s the gist of it for May, but there are more changes to come in June, so keep those trigger fingers at the ready. If you are just scoping out the allure of the franchise’s mobile adaptation, Call of Duty Mobile is available for both Android and iOS. Download now to join in the saloon-style showdown!
