Square Enix has finally revealed the PC specs needed to run Marvel’s Avengers at its most optimal levels via Steam. In a blog post released on Tuesday, the team notes just how much they are pouring into this game, not merely to ensure it pops on the screen with “responsive 144hz gameplay,” but also so as to reach as many audiences as is possible no matter the PC specs.
Still, some decent requirements are necessary, like Windows 10 OS, 75GB of storage space, DirectX 12, and more. Is your PC mighty enough to run Marvel’s Avengers?
For base PC specs on Steam, Marvel’s Avengers players will need the following:
• i3-4160 or AMD equivalent CPU
• 8GB RAM
• NVIDIA GTX 950 / AMD 270 (with a minimum of 2GB video RAM)
• 75GB HDD free space
• DirectX 12
And, for maximum PC performance, Crystal Dynamics recommends:
• Intel Core i7 4770K, 3.4Ghz or AMD Ryzen 51600, 3.2Ghz
• 16GB RAM
• NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 480, 8GB
• 110GB SSD free space
As one avid-eyed Reddit commenter notes in kind:
The blog post from Square Enix also adds that both mouse and keyboard controls will be fully configurable “with many customization options to tune them to your playstyle.” The PC version will also come resplendent with an optional 30GB high-resolution texture pack, ultra-wide resolution support, and multi-monitor configurations, all of which will blow the Xbox One and PS4 visuals out of the water - even with Sony dealing all the punches.
“Might not be helpful for everyone but these specs (especially the recommended) are pretty close to the ones listed for Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC. If anyone wants to test how that game would run on their PC it has a free demo on Steam.”
Despite much of the story being leaked via achievement and trophy lists, hype continues to build for Marvel’s Avengers. With no Marvel film in sight for a long while, Marvel’s Avengers acts as the perfect placeholder in an era devoid of MCU content. Though, it still remains to be seen if the fully polished experience is worth the $60 price tag at launch, with many recent PS4 beta players questioning the validity of gameplay and narrative structure.
At least PC players will get their own time with the beta between August 14th-16th, with an open beta scheduled for the 21st-23rd via Steam. This will not only allow fans to test their PC specs and experience the game but it will also give Crystal Dynamic some much-needed feedback on character balancing, co-op stability, and campaign attentiveness. The PC beta participants will likewise be privy to two special Nameplates, unlocked on launch day.
Come September 4th, experience Earth’s Mightiest Heroes like never before on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with a next-gen console update in Q4 2020.
