In an interview headed by IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey, Phil Spencer revealed some insight into his thought-process concerning the Xbox Series X launch line-up.

Firstly, Spencer confirmed that everything is still looking on-track for the new console’s launch this fall. He did mention that the safety and security of the team comes first and foremost, but there have been no talks of “plan B” strategies as of yet.

Regarding the launch line-up, Spencer emphasized how they only want talk about games that will undoubtedly be ready in time. He simply stated, “you’re going to hear a lot more from us in the game space.” We definitely know that Halo Infinite is the premiere title that will launch with the console, with Cyberpunk 2077, Gods And Monsters, Watch Dogs Legion, Senua’s Sage: Hellblade 2, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and Rainbow Six Quarantine also arriving on the Series X.

Although many are worried about a potentially thin line-up, Spencer commented that “it’s not about any one day, it’s about a sustained stream of great games coming from our 1st-party and our 3rd-party partners. I’m way more focused on that.” Regardless, it is clear that more games will be announced in days to come.

Spencer wouldn’t give out pricing specifics this time around, but feels confident that the team has a “winning plan” in place. He also speculated that a pre-order date would likely be announced in the late summer.
