The Nintendo Switch is in high demand and low supply amidst this COVID-19 pandemic. While the console is currently sold out at major retailers, the Switch Lite is not as scarce, yet. But those hell-bent on getting their hands on one will need to move fast.
Nintendo’s handheld console is sold out nearly everywhere. Shoppers’ best bet at the moment lies with third-party sellers, and naturally, those offers are exorbitantly overpriced. However, we’re all going a bit stir crazy this far into quarantine, so if you have your heart set on a new Switch to bide the time, here are your best chances of acquiring one.
Third-Party Sellers
eBay isn’t much better, with some Switch consoles priced at $400, while the Switch Lite is going for $300. That is the same going rate as the official price tag of the Nintendo Switch console.
Online Retailers and Bundles
While that wraps up the current options for securing a Switch console, the Switch Lite may still be found at a couple of retailers.
The best buy currently- with pun intended- is at Best Buy. The retailer is selling the Switch Lite at its standard price of $200.
The other option is GameStop, where limited bundles keep appearing. For a price range of $230-$260, shoppers can buy a Switch Lite bundled with Minecraft, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, or Super Mario Kart 8 Delux. This pricing is again on par with the handheld’s official going rate plus the $30-$60 dollar game included with the special.
There’s no need to venture out and contribute to the international health risk plaguing society right now. All of these offers are available safely online without breaking quarantine or social distancing protocol.
With summer just around the corner, many gamers will likely be itching to utilize the Nintendo Switch’s mobility features. But for now, those who’re lucky enough to get their hands on one from these rapidly depleting supplies would do well to limit themselves to their home gardens or patios. That’s no cause for despair, however. With due diligence, gamers should hopefully be able to rejoin their friends at local hangouts for some social gameplay by, dare we say it, midsummer.
