Epic trilogies always have something special about that final mission. In Mass Effect 3, Priority: Earth is where your plan will come together after years of effort. In The Witcher 3, Tedd Deireadh, The Final Age is how you find out if your decisions will result in achieving your dreams or a disaster. And in Hitman 3, Untouchable is when you find out the fate of Diana Burnwood, Agent 47, and the organizations that have hounded the world for years.
Of course, that’s only going to be resolved if you can beat the mission. And that’s justifiably not an easy task. So grab a few tricks and secrets to help you with the journey. The decision of how you win is entirely up to you, these are just a selection of tips from the veterans that will help you make this conclusion a memorable one.
10 The Virtue Of Patience
The future DLC will have a lot of explaining to do, but you won’t understand it until you can get through this mission safely. Your first disguise is handed to you on a silver platter. Your next one is a bit more tricky.
You’ll see two employees talking in the next room. One of them has the disguise you might want, but they’re standing next to each other. You could just kill them both and set the train on high-alert, but if you wait long enough, he eventually wanders off on his own, setting you up for a nice and peaceful takedown.
9 Hiding In Plain Sight
Usually it’s the job of Agent 47 to hide in plain sight. He is a master of disguise, after all, and if he didn’t have that, he’d be in a ton of trouble. Well, that plus the game would be incredibly hard and boring.
On the train, though, it’s the code to the car that gets to try hiding in front of your face. The poster on the wall gives it away: 1979. Not being good at hiding codes is a common theme and one of the things that makes no sense about the game’s security details.
8 Skip The Cars
There are several fun disguises on this map, which is on par with the rest of the series, but you don’t have to wear any at all. Despite the linear and guarded nature of the train, you can actually make it all the way to the final target without ever changing clothes or getting into a fight.
How is that possible? Well, there’s more than one way to ride a train. The obvious way is in the cars, but on the roof is perfectly acceptable. You can also slink along the slides of the train for a large portion of the mission as well.
7 Picking Up Clutter
Ordinarily, cans of soda, bananas, and bricks are all just clutter with marginal benefits at best, but in Untouchable, these are absolute lifesavers. Remember that you start with nothing, so even a can of soda will come in handy for a quick knockout.
Folks that need tips when using the PSVR might need a few practice rounds to get the hang of using a blunt object as a projectile, but it will be worth the practice. The guards run a tight patrol, so knocking one out quickly can be critical to remaining undetected.
6 Close The Door
Whether you’re looking for a grenade or one of the game’s legendary Easter Eggs, you’re going to want to do so in privacy. That can be a bit of an issue with a patrolling enforcer and very little room to dart around in.
The simple solution is to shut the door to the cabin that you’re in. Most places you’ve been to prior to this will have the doors shut automatically thanks to modern technology. But this is a train that is mostly without that luxury, so just be sure to do it yourself.
5 Sleeping On The Job
It’s likely that the “Rusty Old Nail” won’t crack the list of the game’s best weapons, but it functions like a single-use lockpick, which is valuable enough. The only problem is that it’s in a cabin with an elite enforcer.
Actually, that’s only a problem on paper. This guard is asleep and that leaves the nail up for grabs. Additionally, he’s got a brand new disguise sitting right next to him, so using this cabin is a really solid way to advance.
4 Blending In Opportunities
Among the many rookie tips for Hitman 3, using opportunities to blend in is good advice. You’ll be incognito even from enforcers and you can often overhear pieces of information that will help you score an assassination. At the very least, it’s free experience via the intel.
In this particular level, you will want to use the gun parts to blend in. The enforcer turns around quickly and you won’t have enough time to hide behind a wall or dash out of a window. By using all three stations, you can leapfrog around him and without a scuffle.
3 Overload The Lights
It’s your playthrough, so don’t let anybody, even this article, tell you about right and wrong answers. By this point, you’ll have found multiple fragmentation grenades and if that’s how you want to thin out the numbers, then by all means, blow them up.
But if you don’t want to have to shoot your way off of this death trap, there is another option. By grabbing a fusion cell, you can overload the lights at certain stations. This will act like a frag grenade for everyone in the vicinity and you can run past an entire flat of guards without them seeing a thing.
2 Be Saluted
Toward the end, you’ll come across the leader of these forces, who’s wearing a uniform that the goons don’t see through. You’ll even get a salute while walking around with an automatic weapon unholstered, that’s how good it is.
You might think it’s not a big deal because it’s toward the end, but remember that you can go backward. Any items that you had to leave behind because they were too well protected, this is your chance to pick them up!
1 Do Nothing
This is a spoiler alert to anyone who hasn’t beaten the game yet! There is an alternative secret ending in this level and this list would be incomplete without mentioning it. Though be warned, if you’re a believer in “good” and “bad” endings to a game, this would certainly be in the latter category.
For those who don’t want to either to take Edwards out or wipe his memory away, you can just stand there and do nothing. If you do, he will suggest you erase your own memory. Anyone who takes him up on this offer willl find out a crucial detail about Agent 47’s endless cycle.
