There might be no mission that embodies Hitman more than Hitman 3’s End Of An Era. You’ll start off in a humble train station and then you’re expected to take down one target that is experimenting with mental technology and then another target that is inside of a cutting-edge defensive experiment.
Sounds impossible? It should, but Agent 47 has never let that stop him before. There are plenty of locations and items on the map that will give you the means to pull off one of the most unlikely heists in the game’s history. All you need is a little bit of improvisation thanks to a few less-than-obvious secrets.
10 Dirty Bathroom
Who knows what possibilities the DLCs may bring? Still, even if the team adds new methods of assassination, the classics can be the best. Poisoning somebody in a nice looking suit can lead to an unwanted bathroom break and a fresh disguise.
Head to the nasty restaurant bathroom and find some rat poison. You can use this on whoever, but if you’re clever, there is a dish in the back being served to somebody who is about to get a tour of the secret facilities. That somebody could be you!
9 Picture The Possibilities
Occasionally the game has a way of making no sense at all, but the increased locations to scan and hack during the Chongqing mission actually make a lot of sense. You’ve got legendary techie Olivia Hall helping you out, you might as well use her.
The map will display pictures of a camera at various locations. Bust out your phone at these places and take a look around. Not only will you find some new assassination possibilities, but you’ll also gain experience just for scanning.
8 Using Codes
All of the best goodies and secret entrances are behind coded entries and no mission features more keypads than Chongqing. There are also a few outfits that you will either love or hate kept stored away behind such doors to make the hassle worth it.
Luckily, there are only two codes to master. Punching in 0118 will get you into the laundromat and the secret ICA bunker in the same facility. For everything else, these so-called “geniuses” are all using a single code: 2552.
7 Backdoor Entrance
Getting inside the facility can take vast quantities of time and a lot of creativity. If you haven’t taken any tips for the PSVR with this game, then it can take even longer. Sometimes, you just need to get inside fast.
Incredibly, the map location called the Inner Courtyard (which is really more of a back alley) offers exactly what you need. Simply open the doors and you’ll be a few corridors and guards away from getting into the part of the facility you need to be in.
6 Dealing With The UFO
If you come across a flying UFO with a green beam shining down upon you, you might think that you’ve come across one of the best Easter Eggs in the series. Sadly, it’s not that exciting. And it also becomes a real problem.
This is actually an advanced security drone scanning the city for people trying to break in. A silenced bullet goes a long way in bringing them down. Sniping down all five will get you an achievement, but more importantly, you’ll also have free reign over the rooftops.
5 Forced Ethics
You’ll probably have a few favorite weapons during your time playing the Hitman 3, but consider that making bad people very, very afraid is a weapon in and of itself. There are some highly unethical experiments going on in Chongqing for you to put a stop to.
Agent 47 will start to see them when you close in on Hush. Sabotaging these pods will not only help the victims of these experiments, it will also attract the attention of a scientist. And wouldn’t you know it, that’s a very helpful disguise they’re wearing.
4 Another Sniper Enthusiast
Sometimes the world can feel so devoid of high powered gadgets that you think of telling the developers to fix the game by putting more deadly weapons around the map. But this is one map where the designers have not disappointed.
If you find yourself on the roof of the laundromat, you might wonder what’s with all of the security. Then you’ll understand why after checking the corner and finding a high-powered sniper rifle next to a guard on a smoke break.
3 Finding Dongles
Hall is a fantastic hacker, but there are some barriers even she can’t cross. To make matters worse, for the facility, you won’t be able to use a lockpick or memorize any passwords to open the doors blocking your progress.
Thankfully, there are the tiered dongles to help you out. Employees seem to be completely incompetent at retaining these dongles on their person. Keep your eyes out for them in easily accessible area areas. If your disguise is even halfway decent, the guards won’t even try to stop you from grabbing an unattended device.
2 Turning Windows Into Walls
The inside of the facility is like a crystal maze. The maze part is fine, players can master that. But the crystal part? Agent 47 does his best work without witnesses, so this presents a pretty serious problem.
Thankfully, there is a solution. Actually, there are about one hundred solutions. You can hack each of the windows and make them dark with either your phone or a screwdriver. If you use your phone, the people around won’t even try to fix it, allowing you to make permanent and convenient walls.
1 Order Of Operations
If you need to vent the core (possible with Royce in it), then you’ll have to take some very dangerous risks and possibly shed a bit of innocent blood. If that’s not your style, then there is good news for you.
You’ll find a terminal where you can fire employees rather publicly with the intercom. If you fire Alicia Reynolds and then Jeremy Bolt, after about a minute, you can then fire Sharon Reed. This sets off a chain reaction that can kill Royce and make your path to the optional objective that much easier.
