Killing zombies and saving the world from an apocalypse on a regular basis is not something just about anyone can do. That’s why the Resident Evil franchise makes it a point to delegate these tasks to the most special combination of trigger-happy characters who call themselves S.T.A.R.S.

To that end, each protagonist, recurring character, or even villain in the Resident Evil franchise have conflicting personalities that set themselves apart from one another. They are even varied enough to fit into different Hogwarts Houses, assuming they have a need to go there. So here’s how we classify each of the major Resident Evil characters based on how the Sorting Hat sees them.

10 JILL VALENTINE - GRYFFINDOR

One of the most popular characters in the franchise, Jill Valentine has been present in many of Resident Evil games as different versions of herself. Regardless of which one she appears as, Jill started out as a courageous member of S.T.A.R.S. who was singled out for special training in the military despite her gender.

This is due to her fearless nature and the can-do attitude which screams determination, even if the players are not controlling her. This easily makes Jill Valentine a valiant Gryffindor who’s always up to the challenge and never backs down even from the freakiest of enemies.

9 CHRIS REDFIELD - HUFFLEPUFF

Chris Redfield is also one of the playable protagonists in the franchise and his highlight game was Resident Evil 5. Before that, he also grew fond of Jill and even became partners with her, staying loyal to her and concerned despite her disfavorable transformation in the later games.

Chris also has a tendency to genuinely care for common people and victims of Umbrella corporation’s shenanigans– at times even disobeying his superiors or conflicting with them due to his sympathy. These are all Hufflepuff traits and make Chris a good leader.

8 ALBERT WESKER - SLYTHERIN

There’s our first Slytherin and it’s Albert Wesker nonetheless– who’d have thought? Albert Wesker initially appeared to be a charismatic yet shady leader of the S.T.A.R.S. initiative but was later revealed to be a villain all along.

Wesker played both Umbrella and S.T.A.R.S. for his own personal gain and megalomaniac dreams of world domination. Wesker is also power-hungry, sadistic, and insanely ambitious; these are all common traits in Slytherin where he will be at home the most.

7 LEON KENNEDY - GRYFFINDOR

Up next we have an eager rookie looking to prove himself and face overwhelming odds on his first day of work, well at least in Resident Evil 2. Leon Kennedy is a brave soul who immediately knows what to do upon seeing a zombie apocalypse unfold at the very police office he’s supposed to work in.

If you can get past his Backstreet Boy hairdo, you’ll definitely see Leon’s Gryffindor qualities shining bright and true. Leon has the courage and skill to overcome his rough and hellish rookie introduction to law enforcement, though his bluntness is something easily exploited by the likes of Ada Wong.

6 ADA WONG - RAVENCLAW

Speaking of Ada Wong, she’s quite the character. Ada is a spy for the corporate world who likes to handle the most difficult missions ever and likes to make them more difficult by wearing high heels and a party dress. It does seem that Ada is doing it out of professional goals, making her less of a Slytherin and more of a Ravenclaw.

Ada is described as having high intelligence and is capable of investigation matters and the most hidden corporate conspiracies with cold calculation and success. Her wit and adherence to logic make her right at home in House Ravenclaw; it also gives her chemistry with the more straightforward Leon.

5 CLAIRE REDFIELD - GRYFFINDOR

Much like Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield is someone who’s eager to prove herself and what she’s made of at the expense of her personal safety. She the type to charge headfirst into an encounter and go guns blazing.

Claire’s determination and bravery is also impressive enough that she’s a strong candidate for Gryffindor. She does have her brother Chris Redfield to thank for this as he trained her back when they were growing up, leading to a better sense of confidence and skill for Claire.

4 SHEVA ALOMAR - HUFFLEPUFF

When you’re stuck in Africa fending off hordes of zombies and mutants left over by the Umbrella corporation’s mistakes, you wouldn’t wish for a better ally than Sheva Alomar. She helped Chris Redfield deal with another messy situation in Resident Evil 5 and also serves as another playable character.

Underneath the fierce warrior facade, Sheva is actually a gentle and kind soul with a bright and inspiring personality. She deeply cares for her comrades and friends and her personal mission is to prevent another bioterrorism wave from happening for the sake of her people. Such a noble goal places her in Hufflepuff.

3 BARRY BURTON - GRYFFINDOR

Being one of the many recurring and persistent side characters in Resident Evil, Barry Burton is a beacon of hope and safety for many fans of the franchise. The gruff and magnum-toting member of S.T.A.R.S. is as brave as a bearded operative can get.

Barry is an easy Gryffindor given his eagerness to always place himself and overcome sticky situations in the games. He was even made to be a protagonist is some of the spin-off Resident Evil titles because his presence is a breath of fresh air from all the pretty and young faces.

2 REBECCA CHAMBERS - RAVENCLAW

Rebecca Chambers is also a member of the S.T.A.R.S. and she’s one of the most unique or special individuals in that team. While she can also do what most other S.T.A.R.S. members can such as shoot stuff back to hell, Rebecca comes with the added bonus of being an accomplished scientist.

She was a scientist before Umbrella’s viruses started destroying the world. Even as a S.T.A.R.S. operative, Rebecca still manages to flex her brains with chemical mixtures and many other scientific knowhows. This makes her a distinct Ravenclaw.

1 NEMESIS - SLYTHERIN

Last but not least is not another antagonist and probably the most popular one out of all the Resident Evil games, Nemesis. We’ll be comparing him to his zombie peers instead to make it fair and on that front, Nemesis is a Slytherin. He knows nothing but a pure ambition to hunt S.T.A.R.S. members forced unto him.

Moreover, Nemesis displays cunning most other zombies do not and has outsmarted Jill Valentine by destroying her helicopter on one occasion. Besides, all villains go to Slytherin anyway, and Nemesis belongs there with Albert Wesker.
