If your health depletes in Home Sweet Home Survive, your soul drops to the ground and you must watch over your teammates until someone picks up your soul and revives you. But if you’ve already been killed once, you’ll be permanently dead the next time it happens.
You will no longer be able to play and instead must watch over everyone else. This is why it’s important to watch your health, keep track of who’s already been down, and where the health packs are. But perhaps most importantly, it’s good to be familiar with how reviving works.
Your Teammate’s Soul
When a survivor in Home Sweet Home Survive dies, there will be a bright green orb on the floor where they were caught. This is their soul. Any teammate can pick it up the same way they interact with other objects like katanas and health. You or your teammate’s soul will automatically be pinged for all survivors to see. Everyone will know its location unless someone has picked it up. Once it’s picked up by another survivor, it goes invisible to the others.
Timer Countdown To Death
There’s a limited amount of time for you or your teammate to be revived. The timer lasts one minute and is displayed over the survivor’s icon in the top right. If this timer runs out, they die for good. You want to make sure you revive your teammate before it’s too late and pray that your teammate does the same for you. When dead and while watching your teammates play, the text on the screen will inform you whether someone is actively trying to revive you or not.
Revival Totems
The way to actually revive someone is by finding a totem — as seen in the photo above. They have a small silhouette of a person above them. They can’t be interacted with unless you have a soul in your hand and they are scattered all around the map. These totems won’t be hard to find — if there is a soul equipped in your hand, all revival totems will be light up a light blue and can be seen through walls.
A handy tip to keep in mind when trying to revive a teammate is that if you’re attempting to revive but the killer finds you, drop the soul. Let someone else try reviving while you act as a distraction to the killer. If you hold onto the soul while being chased the entire time, no one will be able to revive the teammate and time might run out. If you get caught with the soul in your hand, the soul is now stuck in a hot spot with the killer nearby. If you’re being chased, always leave important items behind for others to utilize unless you need them for yourself.
