Honda’s new Civic looks less good than before, but it’s not lost any of the radicalness inside. Genuinely practical and now better to drive, we’d recommend you go for the bigger petrol - or better still - diesel engine, rather than this base 1.4. So equipped, we suspect it would win an extra half-star
