Tooke is the hardest character to play as in Hood: Outlaws & Legends, as the flail is a tricky weapon to master. However, a bit of practice can make Tooke one of the best characters available. This guide will cover everything you need to know to win heists as Tooke in Hood: Outlaws & Legends.

Which Perks Are Best For Tooke In Hood: Outlaws & Legends?

In Hood: Outlaws & Legends, every character can equip three perks. These can significantly alter your character’s ability and change their stats, allowing you to shape a character to fit your playstyle. Here are the best perks to use as Tooke, creating a build that strengthens his gas grenade whilst also enabling you to leech health from enemies.

Tooke Perk Slot 1

Pastoral Aid is a perk that Tooke unlocks at level 5. The main effect of this perk is the ability to walk through your own gas without receiving any negative effects. Usually, Tooke’s grenade creates a cloud of gas that drains everyone’s stamina, including your own.

Tooke is also able to winch the chest faster than other players whilst this perk is active, which should help you secure a rapid victory. However, you will capture spawn points at a slower rate whilst the Pastoral Aid perk is active, so focus on defending objectives rather than roaming and capturing points.

Tooke Perk Slot 2

Suffocating Balm is unlocked when you reach level 7 as Tooke. This perk makes enemy stamina drain even quicker whilst they are in one of Tooke’s gas clouds. This will quickly deplete their stamina, meaning they are unable to sprint away, attack, or even block. With no stamina, your enemy will be left open to your attacks, providing you with an easy kill.

Since Tooke is unaffected by his own gas whilst Pastoral Aid is equipped, you won’t need to worry about losing stamina yourself.

Tooke Perk Slot 3

You will unlock Vampiric Bludgeon when you reach level 10 as Tooke. This perk allows you to leech health from enemies as you attack them. A percentage of all melee attack damage that you deal to an enemy is absorbed and converted to health, allowing you to quickly turn the tide of a battle.

Vampiric Bludgeon is especially powerful when you use the Flail to swing out and hit multiple enemies at once, as you will regain health from each target.

Tips For Playing As Tooke In Hood: Outlaws & Legends

Tooke is tough to master, but these tips should help you get to grips with this strong melee attacker.

How To Master The Flail In Hood: Outlaws & Legends

Tooke’s Flail has a light and heavy attack. The light attack swings in a short arc in front of you, whilst the heavy attack propels the chain forward. To get better at using the Flail, you need to learn to strike a balance between these attacks.

Although the heavy attack does more damage, it isn’t always the best one to use. It eats away at your stamina very quickly, which will slow you down and open you up to a counter-attack. Start with a heavy attack to stun your opponent and break their block, and then follow up with a string of light attacks.

How To Regenerate Stamina Faster In Hood: Outlaws & Legends

Stamina is essential in Hood: Outlaws & Legends, as it dictates when you can attack, block, and run away. Tooke uses a lot of stamina with his flail, but he makes up for that with his Respire trait.

Respire allows Tooke to regain stamina at a much faster rate than other characters, so you can keep rapidly swinging his flail. This is a passive bonus, meaning that it is always active whilst you are playing as Tooke.

When Should You Use Tooke’s Ability In Hood: Outlaws & Legends?

Tooke’s Instinct ability is incredibly useful, as it highlights obscured enemies for teammates and heals those within close range. If your team is under attack and is about to lose an objective, use Instinct to heal you and your teammates. This will help you all stay in the fight whilst also marking any nearby enemies. This provides the perfect opportunity for a quick, powerful counter-attack.

Although it can heal your teammates, don’t overlook Instinct when you are fighting alone. You will still receive extra health, regardless of whether any teammates are nearby. If you are up against multiple enemies, using Instinct and throwing a gas grenade could be enough to give you the advantage.

What Gear Does Tooke Have In Hood: Outlaws & Legends?

As mentioned previously, Tooke has a gas grenade as his gear item. This drains enemy stamina, whilst also making it harder for players to see, like Marianne’s smoke grenade. The perks above mostly focus on making this gas grenade better, so don’t forget to use it.

Tooke’s gas grenade should be used just before you start a fight. As you approach your enemy, throw the grenade at their feet to start depleting their stamina. Follow that up with a sprint attack to make them stagger backwards. By this point, their stamina will be draining quickly and they won’t be able to block many hits, leaving them vulnerable to your flail.
