Horizon Zero Dawn fans could be getting an announcement on the sequel at Sony’s upcoming PS5 event.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is a highly anticipated sequel, as the first installment garnered serious acclaim from critics and gamers alike. The developers have teased a possible trilogy for Aloy and her journeys through her post-post-apocalyptic world. Updates and news have been coming in slowly for the past few years, with the production announcement of the game coming earlier this year. But fans are hoping for an official game release announcement at this upcoming gaming event. Sony has decided to postpone the showcase, which means that fans of the Horizon Zero Dawn franchise will have to wait a bit longer.

These rumors of HZD2 news are sparked mainly by the developers of the game, Guerrilla Games. The lead animator for Guerilla Games, Richard Oud, and senior quest designer for Horizon Zero Dawn, Blake Rebouche, both took to Twitter to tell the internet to tune in for Sony’s expo. The PS5 announcement video was also retweeted on the Horizon Zero Dawn official Twitter account, which all but seals the deal for anyone paying attention.

Despite this scheduling setback fans are still gunning to see a 2021 release date behind Horizon Zero Dawn 2. If Sony and Guerilla Games announce anything short of a release date, they might have more to worry about than the machine uprising foretold in the first game.
