The Red Dead Redemption series is renowned for numerous things, and the most recent entry in the franchise, Red Dead Redemption 2, has established that one of the series’ trademarks is its epic single-player modes.
Of course, Red Dead developer Rockstar Games is known for developing long, sprawling campaigns, though Red Dead Redemption 2 truly broke a record with its ultra long campaign. That’s especially true if you include the game’s side content consisting of side quests, hunting, open-world shenanigans, and more.
Most estimates put the game’s length at about 40 to 60 hours, with HowLongtoBeat reporting an aggregated length of 47.5 hours in simply completing the main campaign. If you decide to complete the game’s side quests, that will add about 30 hours to the game. Further, for completionists, those who want to explore everything in the game will be spending about 160 hours doing so. This entails finishing all tasks, assembling every outfit, discovering every animal, and more.
And if you decide to partake in traditional Rockstar open-world mayhem, that could add quite a bit to the game’s effective length.
Even after the game is over, however, you can always head over to Red Dead Online for similar mayhem or the online mode’s multiplayer campaigns and missions.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an impressive feat, so it’s advised to not rush through it necessarily. Just settle in for the fairly long ride.
