Over the past three seasons of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward has added an array of new guns, such as the Grau 5.56 and Renetti, to its highly-popular first-person shooter. That trend continues in Modern Warfare and Warzone’s fourth season, which began just today, with the Fennec SMG and CR-56 Amax assault rifle now appearing in-game. However, before players can use these Season 4 weapons they must unlock them first, and this guide covers exactly how that is done.

To cut to the the chase, unlocking the Fennec and CR-56 Amax in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone simply requires players to reach certain tiers on the Season 4 Battle Pass. For the Fennec that tier is 15, and for the CR-56 Amax that tier is 31. Notably, both of these new weapons are on the free side of this season’s Battle Pass, which means that they can be obtained by any player that grinds for them.

That said, there are, of course, faster ways to unlock CoD: MW’s Fennec and CR-56 Amax than simply grinding for them, assuming that a player is willing to pay. More specifically, fans can purchase individual tiers on the Season 4 Battle Pass for 150 CoD Points each, and indeed this is a way to get a boost towards unlocking the new weapons. Alternatively, players can buy the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,400 CoD Points to instantly unlock the first 20 tiers, giving them immediate access to the Fennec and putting them much closer to the CR-56 Amax.

Notably, fans that buy the Battle Pass Bundle will also immediately unlock Captain Price as a new Operator, which may be some additional incentive to spend the CoD Points. It is worth mentioning, though, that the Modern Warfare Captain Price skin can be obtained by purchasing just the standard Battle Pass, and that maybe a better option for players that want to spend a bit less.

After a brief delay, the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 is something that many fans are very excited to see, and there are certain to be players that are already grinding towards the Fennec, CR-56 Amax, and other Battle Pass items. However, some players may find themselves temporarily thwarted by the file size of the Season 4 update, and hopefully these fans will be able to complete their downloads and begin enjoying the new season sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
