Zarya got a dramatic makeover in honor of Jay “Sinatraa” Won, who earned the title of MVP after the San Francisco Shock took the Overwatch League Grand Final last year. The skin can only be unlocked using Overwatch League tokens, which can be acquired in a number of ways.
Method One: Buy Overwatch League Tokens
The fastest way to get Overwatch League tokens is to simply buy them.
To purchase tokens, go to the Overwatch home screen and click on the Overwatch League tab on the lefthand side. This will take you to a page with the amount of tokens you currently own displayed on the bottom righthand side. Click on the button beneath the total to go to the token shop, which is the same one you would use to buy loot boxes. Then, you should see a few buying options presented, as in the image above.
The Alien Zarya skin costs 200 Overwatch League tokens, or $10 USD. Once purchased, you can equip the skin and flex on the enemy team.
Method Two: Watch Overwatch League Games to Farm Tokens
The Overwatch League switched from airing live on Twitch to YouTube Gaming in January this year, which temporarily prevented viewers from passively earning tokens by watching games. However, the feature was recently re-enabled on the Overwatch League website, so you can earn tokens simply by tuning into matches when they go live on the League’s desktop site, mobile site, or app.
To start earning tokens, connect either your Battle.net account or your applicable console account (e.g., Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox Live) by logging in on the top-right side of the app or website. From there, as you watch live games, a dialogue box below the feed will state that you’re eligible to earn tokens. The ability to earn tokens varies by region, so check to make sure your country is participating in the promotion.
Viewers can earn five tokens per hour that the Overwatch League is live on weekends. This includes both Asia Pacific and North American games, so you can watch both to earn double the hourly tokens. North American games average five hours while Asian Pacific games average three to five hours. Going by these numbers, 50 tokens is the minimum you can expect to earn each weekend.
The Alien Zarya skin will no longer be available after June 30. Between now and then, there are 26 matches taking place over two weekends, so earning 200 tokens before the 30th shouldn’t be a problem.
Alternative Option: Luck
For those who don’t want to spend money or aren’t interested in streaming multiple games in the background, you can always try to catch Overwatch League token giveaways on social media. For example, San Francisco Shock did a 200 token giveaway in honor of Sinatraa’s skin yesterday, and there’s a chance other teams may follow their example.
No matter how you earn tokens, the skin can only be unlocked in the Overwatch League section of the game’s interface. Once the skin is taken down, it’s unlikely to return. Be sure to get it while you can.
