Looking to square up with some friends online for a game of VALORANT? You’ll need to know how to join a party first, of course.

Although playing with random strangers can be a hoot, VALORANT can be even more of a hoot when you’re playing with a group of your buddies. First, make sure said buddies are actually on your friends list in VALORANT. If you’re not sure how to do that, follow these steps:

  • Get ahold of your friends’ Riot IDs and taglines, and click the game’s Social tab at the top-right corner of the screen in-game. Click the emblem at the bottom to add a friend. Enter their Riot ID, then enter the tagline which is the four-digit number. Hit enter, which will send the invite.

Then, to join a party with one of them, simply look up their name via the Social tab, right-click on their name, and select the “Request to join party” option. Then you’re good to go!

With Riot Games’ latest big title VALORANT having already been out for almost a good two months, many have already dove deep into the tactical FPS to see what all the fuss was about. Surprisingly, though, a large chunk of the user reviews tanked and are still sitting at a dismally average mark to this day.

Well, maybe that’s actually rather unsurprising, seeing as these major-hype games can often set the expectation bar too high before release. Players were also bummed at the relatively small number of Agents (11, to be exact) available to play as upon the official release in early June.

Bur for those who may have been put off by these initial reactions and are yet to try the game our for yourself, know that Riot is continuously working to flesh the game out as we move forward. For example, they’re planning on releasing a new Agent every two months from now on. So as this happens, maybe it’s time to start rallying some friends and giving it a proper go.
