There’s (sort of) a way to make boats fly in Season 3 of Fortnite, but it will take a team of at least three players to be able to pull it off.
Chapter 2: Season 3 has arrived in Fortnite. Even though it has been around for less than a week, the flooded map already feels like home. Players have already grown accustomed to swimming and boating around the map more often than they have ever had to before, and have said their goodbyes to Deadpool as Aquaman is now Fortnite’s resident superhero.
Chances are everything Season 3 has to offer will not have been discovered yet. In fact, we know that’s the case as the trailers for the new season showed off players driving cars. Those cars are hidden beneath the waves right now and will be revealed as the water subsides. There is a new way to get around the map players can give a go right now, though.
The unique method of transport was discovered by Redditors and shared on the site. The innovative Fortnite players managed to get their hands on a flying boat. It’s not as simple as stumbling upon it and taking to the skies, though. Players will need to be in a team of at least three to make the boat “fly” and have a boat, a helicopter, and a grapple gun.
The three players will need to be in charge of one item each. So one will need to take off in the helicopter, while the other two are in the boat. One of those two will need to drive the boat while the other stands in the back and uses the grapple gun to attach themselves, along with the boat and its driver, to the Choppa. The grapple gun wielder will then need to pull up the boat and keep grappling to make sure the boat remains airborne.
The boat isn’t technically flying, of course, it’s being winched into the air and dragged along by a Choppa. We also wouldn’t recommend this method of transport to escape from a sticky situation, or if The Storm is closing in. It can take a while to set up. On occasions such as those, probably best to just hop in the Choppa and make a quick getaway.
