The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare added some new content to the popular first-person shooter, including a brand new weapon in the form of the MK9 Bruen LMG. Like any other new weapon added to the game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans no doubt want to add the MK9 Bruen LMG to their arsenal, and as it turns out, there are a couple of different ways to get that done.
As was the case with the crossbow in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players can either purchase the MK9 Bruen LMG from the store or complete an in-game challenge to get the gun. Unlike the other Modern Warfare Season 3 weapons, it’s not possible to unlock the MK9 Bruen LMG through the Battle Pass, so players can’t just get their hands on the gun by leveling their Battle Pass like they normally would.
Here is how to unlock the MK9 Bruen LMG in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

By far the fastest way to unlock the MK9 Bruen LMG in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is by simply purchasing it through the in-game store for 1,200 COD Points. However, since this is more expensive than the Season 3 Battle Pass, fans may not be too keen on this route. That being said, it should be noted that buying the MK9 Bruen LMG will also get players the Glitch skin for the weapon, along with an emblem and calling card for customization purposes.
Smoke Challenge
To unlock the MK9 Bruen LMG in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare without spending any money or COD Points, players will have to complete a somewhat tricky challenge. The challenge is to get three kills when an enemy is near smoke using an LMG in 15 different matches, meaning players will have to play a minimum of 15 multiplayer matches in Modern Warfare if they want to add the MK9 Bruen LMG to their arsenal.
The exact parameters of what constitutes “near smoke” isn’t really clear, so to complete this challenge, players will just want to throw smoke grenades at their enemies as much as possible while unloading with an LMG. LMGs can typically fire off 100 shots before they need to be reloaded, so players shouldn’t stress too much about wasting ammo by firing blindly into smoke.
It seems the quickest way to get this done would be to play the smaller maps in the game. At the time of this writing, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently hosting the Shoot the Ship playlist, which lets players play exclusively on the Shipment and Shoot House - two of the smallest maps in the game. Anyone that wants to unlock the MK9 Bruen LMG quickly will want to take advantage of the Shoot the Ship playlist while it’s available, as it seems like the best bet to get the challenge done as quickly as possible.
