Virgin Media customers can play the Marvel’s Avengers beta this weekend, even if they haven’t preordered the game. Here’s how.
Marvel’s Avengers comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4, 2020, and then next-gen consoles at a later date. However, players who want to give Avengers a whirl before that are being afforded the opportunity to do so throughout August via a series of beta weekends. The next one takes place this weekend and will give those who have preordered the game on Xbox One and PC the first chance to play.
For the most part, players across all three platforms need to have paid for and preordered the game. However, Virgin Media is giving its customers the chance to take part in this weekend’s beta without having preordered the game at all. The offer is only available to those planning to play on Xbox One and PC, so finally an advantage over PS4 for Avengers players.
The beta weekend starts today (August 14, 2020) and ends on Sunday (August 16, 2020). Virgin Media customers will need to follow the instructions below to gain access.
- Visit virginmedia.com/beta and fill in customer details on the registration form. This will generate an email with a unique beta code. Visit playavengers.com/redeem and log in using your Square Enix Members account. If you don’t already have one, it can be created at this point. Enter your pre-order code in the box provided, select your preferred platform, and then click submit. The final step should be a redirection to the confirmation page. If the code is available it will be displayed and also sent via email. If it isn’t ready, it will be sent via email when it is.
The aim here, of course, is to tempt people who weren’t planning on buying Avengers or were on the fence about it to buy the game on or before September 4. In an attempt to further coax Virgin Media customers into doing so, anyone who does buy the full game after having used a Virgin Media beta code will get some exclusive skins. One for each launch hero, all of which can be seen in the picture above.
