Immortals Fenyx Rising is a game that takes an interesting spin on the widely used Greek Mythology genre. Widely praised for its storytelling and world design, the game shares a lot in common with Breath of the Wild. It’s clear to see that Ubisoft has taken more than enough inspiration from Nintendo’s masterpiece.
The origin of Zodiac signs is widely debated. Certain people consider that the signs originated from Egyptian and Babylonian mythology whereas some are of the belief that their birth lies in Greek Mythology. Nonetheless, the signs have played a huge part in Greek culture. It is only fair that the characters in Immortals Fenyx Rising have a lot of traits relating to the various Zodiac signs.
12 Aries: Ares
What else did you expect? The Greek God of War is bold, courageous, and one of the Gods that Fenyx must restore to their full power in Immortals Fenyx Rising. Ares plays an important part in helping Fenyx defeat Typhon.
Aries are known for their leadership abilities and, as the God of War, Ares possesses the same quality. With the help of Ares and his loyal soldiers, Fenyx is finally able to put an end to the Typhon Saga.
11 Taurus: Hephaistos
Hephaistos is the Greek God of fire as well as crafts. His blacksmithing skills can put Hattori from The Witcher 3 to shame. And just like Tauruses, he is intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated to his craft. Even though Hephaistos doesn’t play a huge role in Immortals Fenyx Rising, he is nonetheless an important part of the lore.
The fan-favorite Vault of Hephaistos also revolves around him.
10 Gemini: Hermes
Hermes is one of the cleverest Gods in Greek Mythology. He also happens to have a razor-sharp wit, not unlike those typically associated with the Gemini zodiac sign.
In the game, Hermes is a supporting character who had managed to steal a part of Typhon’s eyes, preventing him from being able to detect the Hall of Gods. He is a messenger of the Gods who offers Fenyx small tasks that increase their power.
9 Cancer: Fenyx
Loyalty, protectiveness, and intuitiveness are the dominant Cancerian traits. These are also the traits shared by the protagonist of the game- Fenyx. On a quest to defeat Typhon, Fenyx meets many friends along the way who help them on their journey.
From Hermes to Ares, Fenyx is a loving friend who has empathy and understanding. The protagonist will go to any lengths to protect their friends, making them a great example of a Cancerian personality.
8 Leo: Athena
Athena is one of the most beloved personalities in the game. She is the Greek Goddess of Wisdom who is also charismatic and passionate. Other traits she shares with Leos include being dynamic and brave. Fenyx has to restore Athena to her former glory if they want to defeat Typhon. The character is voiced by Melissanthi Mahut in Ubisoft’s game.
7 Virgo: Apollo
Though Apollo doesn’t have a major role in the game, there are instances where he possesses Hermes and the Oracle to dish out prophecies for Fenyx. Similar to a Virgo, Apollo is a perfectionist and is also known as one of the smartest Gods in Greek Mythology. Hermes and Apollo have a bitter rivalry between them.
In spite of this, Apollo doesn’t let anger get the best of him but uses a practical and systematic approach.
6 Libra: Aphrodite
Aphrodite is undoubtedly one of the most well-known Greek Goddesses. She is the Goddess of Beauty who is obsessed with symmetry, similar to Libras. In fact, a Libra is ruled by Venus – the Roman equivalent for Aphrodite.
Aphrodite plays a major role in helping Fenyx defeat Typhon, and she is also one of the first Goddesses to interact with the player in the game.
5 Scorpio: Achilles
A corrupted hero featured in Immortals Fenyx Rising, Achilles is brave and determined, both of which happen to be dominant Scorpio traits. In the game, Achilles has become a bad guy all thanks to the power of Typhon.
When fighting the corrupted hero, players have to take advantage of his Achilles heel. An arrow on his lower right foot is enough to stagger him and make quick work of him.
4 Sagittarius: Ligyron
Fenyx’s half-brother, Ligyron, is a capable fighter who likes to flaunt his skills (sometimes to a fault). Even though players end up fighting him, the conversations Fenyx has with Ligyron are funny and entertaining.
Ligyron tends to not take Fenyx seriously and is also a compulsive liar, so he has his drawbacks. The character shares his confidence and sense of humor with the Sagittarius sign.
3 Capricorn: Prometheus
A major narrator in Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prometheus has been given a punishment worse than death. Similar to a Capricorn, he is ambitious and uses his cunningness to trick the Gods. Even though he is tied to a rock where his liver is pecked out every day by an Eagle, he hasn’t given up on his old ways. Prometheus hates Zeus and never misses a chance to sarcastically insult and demean him.
2 Aquarius: The Oracle
Another popular character from Greek lore, The Oracle is known to dish out false prophecies but sometimes they do come true as well. Just like an Aquarius, the Oracle has unusual hobbies and one of them includes smoking unholy amounts of incense.
This leads to the Oracle blurting berserk and bizarre prophecies that make no sense and may sometimes even jeopardize an operation.
1 Pisces: Hera
While Hera is not as sympathetic and compassionate as Pisces tend to be, she is eccentric and suffers through a lot because of her husband Zeus. She tends to take out her rage on other Gods and Demigods, all because of Zeus’ promiscuity.
Hera is also the patron Goddess of marriage, which is ironic considering the amount of conflict between her and Zeus.
