Nerd Street Gamers and esports organization Immortals Gaming Club have come together to launch online, esports-focused summer camps. The Immortals Gaming Camps offer programs in two popular esports titles, League of Legends and Overwatch.
The Immortals Gaming Camp program aims to bring professional knowledge to young, aspiring professional gamers, all while staying safe at home. The camps will take place throughout June and July, and will be open to kids aged 10-17. There are three total camps offered, two focusing on League of Legends and one focusing on Overwatch. Immortals’ own professional esports players will offer input throughout the programs, taking part in Q&A sessions with the campers.
In addition to the Q&A sessions, each camp will offer competitive games, gameplay review with Immortals staff, health and wellness seminars, and more. Each camp will last five or six days, costing $150 per player. The camps will take place entirely online.
“IGC is excited to partner with Nerd Street Gamers to bring gamers this unique opportunity to learn from our professional players, have fun and connect with new friends in a positive, structured environment,” says Immortals Gaming Club CCO Jon Tuck. “This is a unique moment in time and we believe the camps will serve gamers and their parents well while establishing a format that we plan to replicate for years to come.”
Immortals Gaming Club currently hosts teams in both League of Legends and Overwatch. Their League of Legends side recently finished eighth in the 2020 LCS Spring Split, and the Los Angeles Valiant currently stand at eleventh in Season 3 of the Overwatch League.
While the official start date is currently unannounced, the Immortals Gaming Camps will begin sometime in June.
