AudioMob is a rewarded audio game monetization platform which aims to replace video adverts that pop up in mobile games with background audio adverts. They’ve just launched their open beta, after hosting a successful closed beta which attracted participation from some high-profile studios and global advertising brands.

The advertising you see in free-to-play mobile games is usually the reason why said games are free-to-play in the first place. Whilst being necessary, these adverts can also be real annoying especially because of their intrusive nature. AudioMob’s argument is that everyone will be happier this way - especially the gamers themselves - thanks to the less intrusive nature of background audio advertising.

This method of advertising differs from video advertising in that the ads play in the background of a game whilst the player continues to play, without the visual interruption. The ads are just as easy to build into the games as rewarded video, and players can earn rewards in just the same way, but with far less disruption to their gameplay.

This audio advertising apparently naturally complements banners, video, and playables, along with being just as effective when used by itself. AudioMob promises a new, unique way to get advertisers’ messages across via the incredibly valuable mobile gaming marketplace, in a way that is more welcomed by consumers.
