Since its release, Geshin Impact’s popularity grew relatively quickly, earning a nomination to Google Play’s Best Of 2020. In this free-to-play game, gamers enjoy charming characters and a vibrant game world that’s fun to explore thanks to the puzzles, secrets, and loot it contains.
Genshin Impact’s role-playing gameplay allows you to switch and control a party of interchangeable characters, each with different combinations of skills and attacks. To unlock these characters, players must progress throughout the game or get them via loot boxes. Whichever the case, you have 25 playable characters to acquire, introducing more with each game update. While you wait for your favorite character, here’s how some of them look like in real life:
10 Diluc - Sean Chiplock And Kensho Ono
Diluc is Genshin Impact’s version of Batman, an anti-hero with attitude problems. He’s the current owner of Dawn Winery and the wealthiest man in Mondstadt. But there’s much more to this character, at night he transforms into “Darknight Hero,” protecting the city at all cost.
In the Japanese version of the game, his voice comes froma Japanese actor, singer, and voice actor, Kensho Ono. The 38 years old is best known for his character Giorno Giovanna in the hit manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. Diluc’s English voice comes from Sean Chiplock, an American voice actor known for his work on the anime industry and Japanese video games. Sean’s worked in big video games titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (as Revali, Teba, and the Great Deku Tree). He also worked on Persona 5 (as Yuuki Mishima), to name a few.
9 Klee - Misaki Kuno And Poonam Basu
She’s an official member of the Knights of Favonius, and her strength in combat speaks for herself. But Klee is as energetic as she is dangerous. Her favorite toys are explosives and, being the child that she is, she often forgets bombs can hurt people and destroy everything they touch.
In real life, Poonam Basu gave voice to the character. Poonam is a multi-faceted content creator who has worked with big brands like Nickelodeon and made appearances in tv shows like Parks and Recreation and Swat. In the Japanese version, Klee transforms into Misaki Kuno, a voice actress you can hear in anime projects like The Seven Deadly Sins series (as Hawk).
8 Venti - Erika Harlacher And Murase Ayumu
Venti is a mischievous bard first introduced as an unknown newcomer in Mondstadt. He likes to sing old songs and new poems. This character has another side; his real persona is Barbatos, the Anemo God, one of the seven Archons of Teyvat. As the Wind Archon, his personality is philosophical and wise, a marked contrast to Venti’s usual naivety.
Erika Harlacher is the one giving Venti his voice in English. The American voice actress is known for working in English dubbed anime and video games. You can recognize Erika’s voice from Elizabeth Liones in The Seven Deadly Sins or Sadira from Killer Instinct. In Japanese, Venti’s voice comes from Murase Ayumu, a Japanese voice actor who has worked in games like Pokémon Masters (as Wally) and Final Fantasy XV (as teenage Talcott).
7 QiQi - Christie Cate And Yukari Tamura
Qiqi can be a mystery, the adepti blessed her with a body that can’t die, making her a zombie in a child’s body. As such, she must receive orders before she can do something, but somehow she managed to use these to force herself to complete tasks. Qiqi’s memory is so bad she needs to carry around a notebook to write important things that she will probably forget.
Her voice comes from Japanese voice actress Yukari Tamura and actress and writer Christie Cate in the game’s Japanese and English versions. Yukari worked as Tenten in Naruto, while Christie worked in other video games like NBA 2K20 and Friday the 13th: The Game.
6 Tartaglia - Griffin Burns and Ryōhei Kimura
Players better know him as Childe, one of the Eleven Harbingers. This character comes off as irreverent, self-confident, and narcissistic, to the point where he uses the weapon he’s weakest with. He loves fighting so much he can lose his mind in battle, often jumping to irrational conclusions. These traits make Childe a powerful and dangerous fighter but an easy bait to more calculating characters.
Griffin Burns gives life to Childe in the English version of the game. Burn’s previous work includes JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind (as Doppio) and the male player’s voice in Code Vein. Ryōhei Kimura is the Japanese’s Tartaglia; the voice actor has a long list of characters he’s been. His work includes Romero Fujimi from My Hero Academia and Yoshiya “Joshua” Kiryu from Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
5 Mona - Konomi Kohara And Felecia Angelle
Mona works as an Astrologer in Mondstadt. She’s known for being smart but prideful, refusing to use her powers for profit, even when money is low.
American voice actress Felecia Angelle is the one behind mona’s voice in English. Felecia is best known for Toru Hagakure from My Hero Academia and Ava in Borderlands 3. Japanese Mona comes from Konomi Kohara, a voice actor who’s voiced Hanako Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
4 Razor - Koki Uchiyama And Todd Haberkorn
Razor is a mysterious young man with a wolfy nature. It’s not clear if wolves raised him or if he is a wolf spirit in a human form, but the one thing we know is that he considers his wolf pack his family. Razor’s main motive is revenge; still, at heart, he’s a good-natured character who usually befriends people he meets in the woods and does all he can to protect those he sees in danger.
Koki Uchiyama is behind Razor’s voice; this voice actor worked in notable projects like Hunter x Hunter and My Hero Academia. On the English side of things, Todd Haberkorn gave Razor his voice. He is an American voice actor who worked in games like Bugsnax, Resident Evil 3, and Borderlands 2.
3 Keqing - Eri Kitamura And Kayli Mills
Keqing could easily be one of the game’s best DPS characters. She’s an electro five-star, a part of the powerful Liyua Qixing, and she has the power to teleport short distances. She’s an interesting lady that puts her money where her mouth is and works very hard to prove that humanity’s future can and should be determined by humans and not by archons and adepti.
In real life, Keqing’s voice comes from Kayli Mills, an American voice actress known for working on projects like Shenmue III and Code Vein. The Japanese version of Keqing comes from Eri Kitamura, who’s known for voicing roles in anime like Cana Alberona and Aquarius in Fairy Tail.
2 Chongyun - Beau Bridgland And Soma Saito
This exorcist from Liyue is known for his positive energy. Which makes him a terrific exorcist but takes away his ability to see the spirits - they tend to flee before Chongyun gets a chance to see them- His outstanding abilities come from birth, as he’s the heir to the clan of exorcists.
Beau Bridgland is Chongyun’s voice from the English version of Genshin Impact. He has worked in other video games such as Wasteland 3. Soma Saito is Bridgland’s Japanese counterpart; Saito’s previous roles include Vinegar Doppio from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.
1 Fischl - Brittany Cox And Maaya Uchida
She’s an eccentric girl who works as an investigator for Mondstadt’s Adventurers’ Guild. Fischl is kind and intelligent, but it took time for everyone to trust her, thanks to her peculiar personality and way of speaking. Oz solved this last issue. Oz is a night raven Fischl travels with and who functions as an interpreter to what she’s saying.
No matter which language, Fischl needs two voice actors - one for Oz and one for her - In English, Brittany Cox voices the girl and Ben Pronsky the raven. The Japanese version of the character has Maaya Uchida as Fischl and Yasunori Masutani as Oz.
