In a move to reduce the power of vehicles in the current Call of Duty: Warzone meta, Infinity Ward has officially removed armored trucks from battle royale solos. The vehicles will remain in every other battle royale mode however, leaving some to question whether or not this really fixes the problem.
Warzone’s vehicles are extremely powerful, as they have almost a 100% chance of killing enemies upon impact at almost any speed. In response to this, many players have opted to carry around RPGs and C4 simply to defend themselves from the ATVs, tactical rovers, SUVs, helicopters, and armored trucks that might be heading towards them.
If any vehicle were to be removed, it does make sense for armored trucks to be the choice. Unlike other vehicles, trucks can survive a single RPG or missile blow, making them even more durable than the game’s other modes of transportation. Players in solos modes would often win games simply by sitting in a truck towards the end, an issue that needed to be fixed.
Now, it appears as if solos mode will be a bit more balanced, but many players are still concerned that the vehicle meta is too powerful in other modes as well. It doesn’t seem like Infinity Ward plans to make any big changes soon, and it looks like we can expect vehicles to be a big part of the Warzone competitive landscape for a while.
