People working at Insomniac Games are offering their help to support black writers and artists looking to break into the games industry.

As protests continue in cities across the United States, some people are getting the message. These protests are as much about racial equality as they are about police brutality, and folks at Insomniac Games are trying to do their part for black equality.

Mary Kenny, a writer for Insomniac Games, Telltale Games, and IDW Comics, posted to her Twitter on Monday and offered portfolio reviews for black people looking to break into comics, journalism, or the video game industry. No strings attached.

“If you are black and want to break into writing comics, journalism, or video games - AAA, indie, choice-based, linear - I’d love to review your samples and application materials,” Mary wrote. “Reply to this tweet with a way to get in touch or, if I already follow you, DM the heck outta me!”

Another Insomniac employee, Melissa Coleman, offered her expertise as well as a character artist. She’s looking to help people with 3D modeling experience and is also offering free portfolio reviews.

Yes, protesting on the streets is important, but equally as important is striving to make a more equitable world. Offering to help is how you do it.
