Fan-favorite sexy swan maid Iroha will be diving into Samurai Shodown next week. Releasing on May 13 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Stadia, the character was one of the most heavily requested for inclusion as post-launch DLC. She practically topped every fan poll, so her presence was only inevitable.

As for how she plays, her moveset doesn’t look dramatically different from past incarnations. Introduced in Samurai Shodown VI, her inclusion here marks the first time she will be a part of the series’ canon storyline. It will be interesting to see how SNK resolves the fact that she is technically a swan taking the form of a human, though Samurai Shodown isn’t exactly realistic.

Players will be able to grab Iroha for $5.99 individually or as part of the game’s second season pass. She is the third of four new characters coming to the game, though a third season pass seems likely. While the Switch and Xbox One versions have the season pass for $19.99, the PS4 version hit some weird hiccup on the PlayStation store. The second pass goes for $13.99 and first character Mina Majikina is a separate purchase at $5.99.

While I’m not exactly keen on DLC for fighting games, it is nice to see that 2019’s Samurai Shodown is becoming something of a comprehensive version of the series. It is a great title with an excellent art style that reintroduced the venerable series into the mainstream. Hopefully, it continues to do well.
