A recent tweet sent out by the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account may hint at a possible appearance by the legendary game director Hideo Kojima.

Developers CD Projekt Red first announced Cyberpunk 2077 way back in 2012, and after numerous delays is finally set to be released on November 19th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, with next-gen versions to follow sometime next year.

In celebration of Hideo Kojima’s first game since his departure from Konami, Death Stranding, getting a PC release, the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account reached out to personally congratulate the director and his team. Along with their kind words, the tweet also included two images. One is a photograph of Kojima posing on a replica of the red Yaiba Kusanagi bike at a Cyberpunk 2077 booth from the Tokyo Game Show, with the other being artwork of him on that same bike in the same art style as the game.

Hideo Kojima has been known to include cameos and references in his games, especially with Death Stranding, and Cyberpunk 2077 has made it a point to highlight the inclusion of Keanu Reeves, even having him appear on stage to present their game during Microsoft’s E3 presentation. While neither party has commented on whether or not Kojima will appear in the game in any way, CD Projekt Red has made it clear that there are still a lot of surprises yet to be revealed about the game.

Based on the tweet coming from the Cyberpunk 2077 account rather than any individual, or even the company itself, lends some credence to the speculation. It is clear Kojima himself is a fan of the game, as evidenced by him visiting their booth and taking a photo that was included in the tweet, so it does seem as though both parties would be interested in collaborating in some capacity.

Kojima also did get to get an early look at the game while at Tokyo Game Show, which could have allowed him and the developers to form some kind of relationship. If he were to appear in the game, who knows how big of a role his character would actually have. More than likely it would just be a cameo or Easter-egg as opposed to a more major role like Keanu has.
