It has been over a year since there has been any information about Elden Ring, but hopefully, the drought ends on December 10.
Lee Kirton, the director of marketing and communications at Bandai Namco UK, tweeted out “Big Day!” while quoting The Game Awards. The Game Awards happens on December 10, which is known for debuting world premieres of upcoming games and giving out awards for the best games of the year. It’s always fun to speculate about what will and will not be shown at The Game Awards, and developers have teased their involvement in recent years.
However, something else is happening on December 10. A little game called Cyberpunk 2077 will finally release. Something that Kirton had to clarify twice in follow-up tweets. “Because you will also be playing Cyberpunk 2077!” said Kirton in one of his follow up tweets. In another tweet, Kirton says, “10th December is a big day for gaming.” while posting a gif of the Cyberpunk 2077 logo. While December 10 is a big day for video games with Cyberpunk and The Game Awards, fans can only speculate if the Cyberpunk follow-up tweets are to cover up an Elden Ring reveal or not. At this point, any potential tease is enough to get fans’ hopes up for a new trailer.
Elden Ring is developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco. The game is a collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this game since its announcement at E3 2019, as a souls game with George R.R. Martin on the project is a recipe for success. From Software’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice won game of the year at The Game Awards in 2019, so hopefully, From Software will come back to show off a new trailer for Elden Ring.
The Game Awards always does make for a show full of surprises, so December 10 does appear to be a big day indeed coupled with the release of Cyberpunk 2077. It should be an event full of game reveals, awards, and Keanu Reeves. Hopefully, Elden Ring makes an appearance at The Game Awards because fans are starving for information.
