Everyone’s into Animal Crossing: New Horizons these days, even celebrities: including iconic Japanese rock/pop singer Risa Oribe, better known by her stage name LiSA.
You’ve probably heard of LiSA if you’ve ever spent any amount of time in the anime scene. She’s been in so many big time shows that it’d be easier to list what major titles she hasn’t lent her voice to, but here are few notable ones you might recognize her from: Sword Art Online, Fate/Stay Night, Angel Beats!, Demon Slayer… you know, just the cornerstones of the anime scene. And that’s not even getting into her non-anime related singing career.
LiSA tweeted about picking up New Horizons back in April, when Japan went under quarantine in response to COVID. Over a month later and she’s still at it, and judging by her tweets, she’s absolutely loving the experience.
She’s been streaming her adventures with Japanese TV, and from what we can see in her screenshots, her island is absolutely gorgeous! LiSA’s friends have also been visiting her island, and they appear to be doing live group calls while they play.
You’re probably not going to get a surprise DM from LiSA asking if she can come over and sell her turnips like one lucky Twitter user did from Elijah Wood, but LiSA’s enthusiasm for New Horizons is certainly a wholesome reminder that even legendary singers can enjoy a game as much as we do.
