Jackbox is bringing user-created t-shirt designs from one of their games to life in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Some of you are probably intimately familiar with Jackbox Games, the makers of You Don’t Know Jack and several collections of party games where players use their phones to play. It’s a cheap and easy way to achieve some sort of social life during the age of pandemic, and something that my playgroup enjoys every Saturday night.
That said, Jackbox realizes that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a much larger audience than their humble assortment of party games, so it makes sense for the Chicago-based developer to do a bit of crossover work with the biggest game on the Nintendo Switch.
Thanks to a brand new website, you can now import your t-shirt designs from Tee KO to New Horizons via an automatically generated QR code.
For those unaware, Tee KO is a drawing game on Jackbox Party Pack 3. Players draw several designs for a fictional t-shirt and then also create several slogans. Those designs and slogans are then sent to random players who mix and match them for humorous results. Players then vote on which combinations of designs and slogans are their favorite, with the winning designs winding up as real t-shirts that you can actually order from Jackbox.
Now thanks to this website, if you don’t want to actually buy those t-shirts you can at least wear them in New Horizons. All you need to do is enter the Tee KO gallery URL from your finished game and it will generate QR codes for all of the winning designs. You can then download those designs to New Horizons via the Nintendo Switch Online App.
Sadly, the fidelity of New Horizons custom designs isn’t quite good enough to also allow the slogans to be printed as well, which sort of ruins the joke. But sometimes, t-shirt art can stand on its own. For those instances, Jackbox is here for you.
